Settings are all at default, using LAV/CUDA with madVR, the framerate plays @ 59 FPS then suddenly drops to 40 FPS then goes back up after a while

What is going on here?

I thought a GeForce GTX 770 with 3 GB on board RAM and 32 GB RAM with an i7 should be able to handle anything

my specs:

ASUS G750JX-CV050H
CPU: i7-4700HQ @ 2.40 GHz.
Memory: 32 GB DDR3 1600 MHz. Hynix RAM
Graphics: GeForce GTX 770M 3 GB GDDR5 RAM
Storage: 256 GB LiteOn LCM-256M3S SSD + 1 TB Seagate Momentus ST1000LM024 5400 RPM HDD
Screen: 17.3" Full HD 3D Glossy Screen
OS: Windows 7 Professional (x64)

Just wanted to warn everyone, ever since MPC had the LAV decoder integrated internally, I can never get LAV to work

If i setup LAV and choose CUDA, when playing a movie, rightclicking on the screen to see which filters are on, all I see is ffdshow and nothing about LAV

If I install the LAV codecs manually, then even when choosing CUDA, I always see DXVA at the bottom of the MPC-HC Window

That's why I switched to MPC-BE which doesn't have this crappy integration of LAV and always play LAV/CUDA right

On Windows 8.1, after I format, do I need to manually install DirectX 9 for SVP or MPC-BE or do they work fine with DirectX 11 that's included in Windows 8.1?

I used to always install DirectX 9 as soon as I format but now I am thinking maybe that's not needed?

Hmmm, actually, those are the default settings bro and they were unchecked. Anyway, with the latest nVIDIA Driver 332.21 the swapping between 120 FPS to 59 FPS decreased I need to monitor it a bit more the target frame rate at the moment is at its default which is to refresh rate which is 120 FPS much more than needed

Chainik
sorry but where to find that option? I've looked in the madVR settings but couldn't find it

I have an ASUS G750JX laptop which has an nIVDIA GeForce GTX 770m graphics chipset which I believe should be powerful enough for SVP

@ 60 Hz., everything is smooth as silk and the FPW is at a constant 59 FPS

but when I set my refresh rate to 120 Hz. (I have a 3D Screen) and even though Stereoscopic 3D is disabled in the nVIDIA Control Panel, when I play a movie, the FPS is not constant and keeps flipping between 120 FPS then after a few seconds it would drop down to 29 FPS then again up then down

I temporary solution I did was to set the Target Frame Rate to 24 > 60 FPS and that limits my FPS to go up to 70 FPS for example

still, I think this is not the way it should be done, anything you can suggest for my settings?

please post a screenshot of how your external filters page looks in the options of MPC-HC and list the versions you are using for each of the components you listed

I formatted my laptop and reinstalled Windows 8.1 with the same exact components as before (MPC-BE + latest madVR + latest LAV + Latest ffdshow) and now the  error is gone smile

I just uninstalled MPC-BE and installed MPC-HC (latest version) and the problem was solved

I have to note that even though I have specified to use LAV/CUDA, I see the words DXVA mentioned at the bottom of the player, is this normal?

When I play an MKV file using MPC-BE + madVR + LAV, whenever I seek to a diff. portion of the video, the image just freezes.

If I run the video using windows media player it's fine

please help meh

Tried this with 2 diff. MKV movies with the same result

wowww! thanks a lot man! that worked like a charm thanks to your precise instructions! I would have never figured it out if you didn't tell me about moving the video to the 2nd screen

I have a GeForce GTX 770m which I connect to my TV via HDMI cable

can I like watch the movie on my TV while continue to work on my laptop? sort of like a split output that is independent?

how to do this if it's possible?

sorry for the off topic message, what skin are you using on your AIMP3? I like it but I couldn't find it

Changed the PCM setting in ReClock to DirectSound (Default) and now it's fixed

I am afraid I might have audio stuttering again sad

Just started having this today, what could this be?

Rimsky knows my player / ReClock Configuration

MAG79

or he can simply turn off Exclusive mode in full screen via the MadVR settings and he wont get that error even with 3D Enabled

Happens randomly, what could be the reason?

Here is my setup:

MPC-BE 1.3.0.3 (x86)
LAV Filters 0.59.1
madVR 0.86.11
FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder 2013-12-03_clsid
ReClock 1.8.8.0

http://i43.tinypic.com/v6n9lc.png

The stuttering happens randomly, like I would be watching a movie, and for a few seconds, the audio would go away then come back

Even if SVP is not running this happens. I know it is not an SVP issue, but I would appreciate some feedback from the PROs here

Thanks to Rimsky , the problem is solved now! I really appreciate your help bro!

The problem was the built in subtitles of MPC-HC was conflicting with the LAV Splitter subtitles that's why it was crashing.

So I installed MPC-BE which I like its interface more, but then I wasn't able to select the English subtitles, what Rimsky did was enable the tray icon of LAV Splitter in its options, then we could see the subtitles options, so he selected English and the subtitles appeared perfectly!

Great help from this forum for an issue that is not directly related to SVP.
