100% wink

Welp, I thought it's going to be high since I recall you moved to Qt, but I didn't expect it's going to be identical.

Are there any circumstances under which you'd open source the project?

Or is there any plan to do that in X years?

Personally I just really want to avoid proprietary software just to watch my videos in a decent quality.

Open source =/= free. Paid, copyrighted products with public source code does exist.

they only exist because of the paid online subscription (Plex) / support, or it requires some hardware to work with (Lightpack), or the software is used on a corporate market (Ubuntu)

Actually there's a fourth option, a company offers an open-source product and offers a closed-source premium one. (for example Nginx PLUS https://www.nginx.com/products/ )

I believe this could work for SVP, at least to some extent.

I think the free portion of Windows version could be open-sourced, since that's free anyway.

Then I believe the Linux version could be open-sourced, as that's free anyway, but I don't know how much of the code is shared between the Windows version.

Opinions?

I would really like if you'd consider releasing the source code of SVP.

I'd feel much safer running something that I can personally inspect, and know that everyone else can do the same.

Full version of SVP is already free on Linux(which I use, and I supported SVP on Indiegogo anyway), so I'm not asking for this because I want to save money. In fact, if SVP goes open source, I'll happily support it again.

Is there any chance that SVP will adopt a GPL license? I do understand that there's an interest for you against this (paid macOS and Windows features), but I'm still hoping that you'll consider the community gains.

Or maybe you could release source code so experienced people can compile themselves and have the binaries behind a paywall? (even though that can backfire in form of someone forking and providing binaries for free..)

So, I think I got the hardware set up correctly, but I'm having trouble getting Hyperion to run.

https://hyperion-project.org/threads/rp … r-out.759/

Is there something else than Hyperion that I can use on the Rpi?

>... or follow Lightpack's USB protocol
Oh, so I could connect the raspberry pi and the computer via male-male USB cable in the end?
Then I just need to figure out how to make it speak the protocol, I assume in worst case I'll have to do some coding.

So the remaining issue is knowing how to operate the strips through RPi, but there are a lot of resources that I can use, so that's not an issue.

I guess that's it? Thanks a lot for the resources, I'll be back in a month when I'm home and have the strips!

Hi,
I'm attempting to make my own Lightpack, and I want it to work with SVPLight on my linux desktop.

Now, I'd really welcome any input since I'm new to electronics in general, and the software stack is really confusing to me.

According to this wiki page - https://www.svp-team.com/wiki/SVPlight - for blinkenlights to work with SVPlight, I need to get it o work through Prismatik. The link to Prismatik on the page is broken, but I assume it is this dead repo - https://github.com/woodenshark/Lightpack/

Now I found someone who forked it and keeps working on it, so I assume I can use that instead.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Lightpack/comm … n_windows/
https://github.com/psieg/Lightpack/

Now I got a 5V 10A chinese PSU - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/LED-Pow … 26418.html
And 5M(30/M) WS2812B coming, of which I'll be only using some 2.5M - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1m-4m-5 … 19167.html

I also got a RaspberryPi3B, and a bunch of arduino dev boards, but I'm assuming I can only use the RPi.

If someone could point me in the right direction, that'd be awesome. As of now, I have no idea what to do when the LEDs arrive, as most of the guides seem to be geared towards actual Lightpack kits, and not DIY.

This was an advertised feature of SVP4 - one click conversion via a plugin and one of the reasons I paid for the software.

Updated to .90 and now mpv(smplayer) is crashing whenever I open a file for the first time, I can work around this by disabling SVP, launching the file and then enabling SVP again.

Last SVP update now made SVP unlaunchable on that machine.

SVPManager doesn't run because libQt5Qml.so.5 is missing, installing qt5-3d package fixed that. The form is still gigantic though.

For some reason on one of my installs SVP manager just turned into this mess http://i.imgur.com/pOCzL1C.jpg and I cannot downsize it. I can't even see the whole thing, something is hidden in the bottom of the screen. Updating(which took a lot of TAB guessing) did not help.

Am on Linux with Catalyst drivers.

Btw Chrome reports your wiki as insecure because of the certificate, look into Let's Encrypt.

Smplayer crashes when playing .flac files and SVP is running.

I think that music files should be excluded as at most they contain a cover art picture.

Had a quick look, doesn't seem to handle 144FPS hmm

EDIT: Or it does.. how exactly would I need to edit the script for that?

global smoothfps_params = "{gpuid:11,rate:{num:144,den:"+String(Round(last.FrameRate))+"},algo:23,mask:{area:50,cover:80},scene:{blend:true,mode:0}}"

I tested only on AVS script. It will auto calculate multiplier.

Sadly StaxRip is not crossplatform, so I still have no idea how to do this.

Hi, on the Indiegogo page there was a saving feature mentioned which now I can't seem to even find mentioned anywhere else.

Are you still planning on implementing it? It'd be very welcome. I'm currently using mpv(smplayer) on Linux if that matters.

Am running SVP under Arch linux, Nvidia GTX 970 with proprietary drivers.

[CBM]_Cowboy_Bebop_-_Session_06_-_Sympathy_for_the_Devil_[720p]_[EC168C9C].mkv
I get audio desync on this file, and only this file so far. No matter whether I use mpv or smplayer, or disable frame rate conversion, as long as SVP is integrated to the player the audio immediately starts desyncing(slower than video), fixable by peeking and then it immediately starts desyncing again.

File is available from here https://kat.cr/cbm-cowboy-bebop-1-26-co … 98131.html

using newest SVP4 PRO, any hints?

EDIT: Was able to disable it via right clicking the system tray, could we get it added into the GUI too please

Hey there, I activated SVP, had to do OS reinstall for reasons and now I'm getting this.

WTF? I paid for this because I wanted to support you, not to get obnoxious DRM which does not enable me to actually use the software even.
