I find that Nvidia CUVID can work with SVP 64bit now. (32bit still freezes)
I'm using the latest driver(361.91) and LAV filter nightly(0.67.0.136) on Windows 10 14271.
I don't know which one settled the problem.

I must say that I'm impressed that Nvidia CUVID is working with me too!!!

I am using windows 10 with all updates (1511; 10586.122), nvidia 361.91 (although there is 362.00  I'm testing right away).
lav filters I'm using from K-lite mega codec pack 12 (64-bit media player classic, lots of stuff (Updated MPC-HC to version 1.7.10.101; Updated LAV Filters to version 0.67-142-gb9999)) with svp 64-bit reinstalled above it.

Actually, I really dont know the advantages of nvidia cuvid with dxva-copy back, except for hardware-deinterlacing.

I had to lower the threads from auto to 11 for this 5k video to play, .... for my ghost towns 8k video play with svp (not reaching 50 fps), I had to put threads = 3.... all settings were lowered for these videos.

Sucess!

Sorry to forget that, I am already using 64-bit svp, and 64-bit mpc-hc......... I had the same issue with 32 bit mpc-hc and 32-bit svp, and I thought using 64-bit svp it wouldnt happen anymore...

I am using 64-bit svp with all options maxed (except for complicated svp shader, that I do not recommend using (it used to crash), and only 60 fps); and nvidia dxva copy-back, and enhanced video renderer (custom presenter).

Hi.

I cannot watch this 2880p (5k) video with svp that mpc-hc crashes... those heavy videos simply use a lot of ram...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRt4Duf7GoI

To download I use "4k video downloader", MP4, second 4k option (which is not 4k, but 5k) that is +- 509 MB (Snow Monkeys in Japan 5K Retina 60p (Ultra HD).mp4), and 23fps (its not 60p on youtube).

I have used the 4gb patch but its no use.

My processor can handle 5k videos 60 fps with svp, if the bitrate is low, like this video.

Anyone?

Thank you.

I try all HW decoders (CUVID, Quicksync, DXVA2 copy-back and DXVA2 native) in LAV Video Decoder. And I try All DXVA-compatible renderers.
I can get ideal 60 fps playback with DXVA2 native HW decoder and EVR renderer. I need to disable ffdShow in external filters tab of MPC to get work of DXVA2 native.
So, I think it is difficult to my system to decoder 4K, to copy 4K@60fps stream to RAM, and to send it back to Graphic card.

My spec:Core i5-3570K (HD Graphics 4000) + GeForce GTX 660 Ti + FullHD (not 4K) monitors.

Hello........... finally the site is on! good!
actually, mag79... I discovered that I just use the maximum performance of dxva2 (60 fps) when I disable ffdshow in external filters... when using NVIDIA CUVID, the video ran at 60 fps with ffdshow raw video filter enabled.

Nintendo Maniac 64 wrote:

I agree with this, in particular I get the best performance with QuickSync + D3D Fullscreen for videos larger than 1080p.

I think maybe the performance from nvidia cuvid and dxva2 are similar... with ffdshow disabled....

Chainik wrote:

svp disabled is not truly disabled

svp is disabled if avisynth is unchecked and should be unchecked if "temporarily disable svp" is on

I understand that the videos are not converted anymore to a high frame rate when svp is disabled... the only problem is that svp affects the performance of heavy videos when opened, even in background, even disabled... don't ask why hehe....

What current hardware: CPU, GPU, monitor?

monitor... hum... 32'' TV 1080p 60hz LG

Hi MAG79!.............. look how weird!

download the video
http://bbb3d.renderfarming.net/download.html                    download native render size (4000x2250 pixels), 60fps

SVP ON + dxva copy back - 38 fps
svp disabled + dxva copy back - 38 fps
svp exited + dxva copy back 47 fps (there IS DIFFERENCE between disabling and exiting svp!!!???!!! why is that?)
svp exited + NVIDIA CUVID 60 fps (okay!)

conclusion... dxva copy back is not equal to nvidia cuvid, but worse.
conclusion 2 ... svp disabled is not truly disabled......

To sum up, HDMI can only do 60fps or refresh at that rate and that doesn't change.
If you force more frames per second, then it will be scaled to 60 fps or refreshed to that rate.
You can do what ever you want with SVP using what ever filters you apply and this may improve things like getting rid of artifacts, but in the end it will still be scaled to 60Hz refresh rate when sent to a 60Hz monitor.

Actually, there is more.... hdmi 2.0 stuff (videocard that supports hdmi 2.0 + hdmi 2.0 cable) can reproduce svp's 120hz in 1080p, or 4k60fps.. i have those... unfortunately my monitor is a 60hz 1080p 32'' tv kkkk... I'll try svp 120fps on a 60hz tv with v-sync on to see if there is difference...

My experience on seeing a 120fps/90fps/75fps movie with svp in a 60hz tv is negative, didn't like it! Nothing else to say. Better to stick with 60fps .... or buy a better monitor.

Hi there. I use the software from svp 4 pack pro (mpc, reclock, madvr, lav), but this problem is with or without svp enabled.

I have just one issue. My 4k natural 60fps videos (such as those that can be downloaded from youtube), like bigbuckbunny 4k60fps, firestrike from 3dmark, starcitizen-piecesofeight from youtube....... does not play at 60 fps, but to sth as 38 fps.. the audio is okay (60fps) but the video is slow (40 fps). interesting is that nor videocard, not cpu, memory... anything is being used that much, its been only at 40% usage.

I use MPC-HC x86, reclock, mad-vr, lav filters (dxva (copy-back))... i tried to use custom video renderer, system default video and audio, but none were good.

Is there a way to use more cpu to make this videos flow at 60fps? I tried to raise the threads from lav filters, but nothing happened.

Thank you

By the way, changing the subject, svp4 pro rocks!!!!!!!! its awesome.

Hi there, actually this was a "VRM" problem. I've been on a overclockers forum, and the problem was with my motherboard. I've changed my mobo from 4+1 power to 8+2 and its all okay now, with no throttling from my fx-8370.

Hi there again!!!!!!!!!

So, its been a while since i've noticed that my svp index is like a teeth architecture.. like this v-----v-----v-----v-----v-----
0.99-1.00-1.00-1.00-0.99-1.00-1.00-1.00-0.99

is it normal? Pls see the picture

Thank you

Is there a svp 4 manual of instructions?

I really want to know the difference between some options in svp4.....

Whats the advantage of using "animation" for animation, and "film" for real movies? And if I only use film option?

Whats the advantage of low artifacts masking from high one? Isnt there a "always better solution", like "if you have a good cpu, you can always put on high, and it would be awesome!?"

Thank you

Thanks guys. I've studied this, and tested many options in the bios... the fact is when my cpu reaches 40.something ºC (and I have a water cooler) the frequency falls automatically... now I disabled turbo and overclocking, and I have lowered the voltage 0.5V... the results are: when my cpu is at 80% usage it does not reach 35°C.

Hello.

I'm using nvidia gtx 960, cpu 8-core, svp 4 free, windows 10, madvr, reclock, mpc-hc, dxva2 (copy-back), and when I watch videos, these weeks I've been noticing

that from 5 to 5 minutes the gpu usage comes to 0% for 1 second (but the video wont freeze), and then svp index becomes low, cpu usage maximizes and fps comes to near 10 fps...

and then 30 seconds later the audio and video arent matching anymore, and then gpu recovers and one minute after its all okay again............ 5 minutes later, all this process repeats again,..........is someone like me having this problem?

I've noticed that 4k videos with low quality is definitely not beautiful.... beautiful is indeed a full hd video converted to 60 fps...... thats why for now, when I see 4k videos on mpc-hc, I will see them at 24 fps

Nintendo Maniac 64 and Chainik

I've changed the value from -30 (-30%performance) (utilities, application settings, 2. video profiles options, profiles, fi_auto_adjust) to -200, -80, -50 whatever........ now I've successfully been able to convert 4k movies from 24 to 60 fps by diminishing quality.

4k videos uses more than 3 times cpu over full hd videos... and svp4 is only intended to play, normally until full hd videos, that is why it is needed to raise insanely the performance.

46

(8 replies, posted in Using SVP)

Chainik there could be a way in svp4 for drastic change in performance/quality, as there is on svp3 (1c-1g-2c-2g-3c-3g-4c-4g-5c-5g)... the change in performance bar on svp4 is quite low compared to svp3...

47

(8 replies, posted in Using SVP)

Alright, now... changing the number of threads, the cpu usage is good.

But my svp index for 4k movies is 0.85-0.95 ....

I put higher performance on video profiles, optimized for film, art. masking low, I use madvr and reclock... there is a way to raise svp performance from 0.85 to 1.00 changing this?

Hello.

I play full hd videos with the highest quality I can with SVP4 but,

when I turn to 4k videos (24->60fps or 60fps with svp on) I just cannot play, no matter what options I reduce to! The 4k video does not achieve 60 fps as it used to when I was using svp3! On SVP3.1.7 i was able to switch from 5G (I used for full HD) for 3G (I used for 4k), but on SVP4, even with this new one SVP4 free, even if I use more performance, there is no big difference.

Ah, and there is something, the CPU-GPU usage does not reach 40%! On SVP 3 I think it could use all your cpu, and then it might be a limit, nonintended, for performance on high usage videos.

Can any of you watch 4k videos flawlessly with svp4? On which configuration? Thank you.

By the way, I use windows 10, I have a amd-8370 OC. 4.5ghz 8-core cpu; nvidia gtx 960; dxva-copy-back; mpc-hc x86;

Hello.

I was using SVP 3.1.7, and I was watching full hd videos on 5g profile, and 4k videos on 2g profile. On SVP 4, there is no big difference between 30% performance, optimal and 30% quality, or at least there was more difference between 2g and 5g profiles on svp 3.1.7, therefore I have a good CPU (AMD FX-8370 4.5 ghz 8-cores) and a medium offboard GPU, and I am not able today to watch 4k 24fps converted to 60 fps in SVP 4, just in SVP 3.1.7.

Can u guys fix it, I need sth like" -60% -30% -15% optimal +15% +30% +60%", not just 30%, to watch 4k vids, just like I was doing when I switched from 5g to 2g-3g in SVP 3.1.7.

Thank you.

Hello.

Which profile is better? Performance w/ 4g or 3g with high quality?

My pc scored 71.38 fps in high test SVP mark (Full HD), GPU+CPU (u can see the file of rankings of SVPMARK).
My cpu is a phenom II x6 1055T oc 15% achieving 3,2 Ghz. It is like 4 of 5 in the SVP profile.

When I use NVIDIA CUVID 100% hardware to decode with high quality processing; using also madVR in high preset (unticking quality limitations); reclock for audio; preferring LAV splitters always; gpu-acceleration; nvidia GPU settings for best quality in my Geforce 550 Ti; 30 threads for ram (gives me 3,6 Gb of ram in use with mpc); I can only play tough videos (10gb movies) in 3g preset, and not in 4g: It uses 90%+CPUusage    80%+GPUusage    3,6Gbramusage     for      60 fps in 4g

Then I need to know, please, moderators, should I use 4g w/o high quality for, I dont know, a smooth movie without madvr, without graphics quality, or 3g with the highest settings for decoding, gpuquality, rendering, etc. (except svp of course, which is 3g);

If there is a middle term let me know smile.

Oh and it is weird that in SVPmark I cannot put like more than 19 threads that it crashes. In SVP I can put 30 threads: If I put 36 it crashes too. When I use SVPmark I've got the best mark with 13 threads and not more, like 15-19. Should I use in SVP 13 threads (or auto) or my 30 threads? Appreciated.

Waiting for an answer.

Thks.

Obs. Today I am using 4g with everything on top except for "high-quality processing" in nvidia cuvid. Is it worthy?
