When I play an HDR file via MPC my monitor switches to its HDR mode which is shit though smile With ffdshow SVP (or was it MadVR or whatever) tried to change the colours appropriately so that HDR material looked good even without an HDR monitor/tv mode. That was better. How can I play an HDR file now without the monitor switching to its HDR mode?

It works now holy shit!! It must've been a bad file an old file or whatever how the hell did that happen it is working now with a fresh mpvSockets.lua smile
God bless you Chainik it wasnt that hard I was just dumb and the file was "broken".....God bless SVP and also MPV

There is no lua-settings folder if that is the prob and therefor no console.conf and stuff

Ok thx I think I do understand.
MPV isnt loading the script though. I created a scripts folder under roaming/mpv put the mpvSockets.lua there. Doesnt seem to work. I reinstalled everything but it wont work (doesnt load the script).

Also tried to load the script via the command prompt: ".\mpv.exe --script=C:\PATH\TO\mpvSockets.lua C:\PATH\TO\VIDEOFOLDER\WITH\MULTIPLE\FILES\Videofile.mp4" to load the script but nope.

Ok so it opens sockets on its own. With the mpvSockets.lua in the scripts folder MPV should load the script on its own, correct? Then what exactly is the commandline in the conf file and in SVP? In SVP its just "mpvSockets" and in the conf file its a specific socket or why did you mention 20748 if it opens a new socket with various numbers every time mpv launches another instance?
I just dont see the connection between SVP and MPV with the mpvSocket.lua.

I tried with mpvSockets in the conf and SVP I tried with the number 20748 you mentioned but it wont bite. Then I thought the script wont even load but I guess that should work automatically.

God bless you in advance

Someone go this working? I can use the mpvSockets line instead of the input-ipc-server and SVP activates but only for one video once again. Not for 2 or more. And in the SVP options it still says mpvpipe so you still gotta use that to combine SVP with MPV or what?
Although I am talking about MPV mostly atm not SMPlayer ^^. So wrong thread ofc but still its important stuff smile

Well I copied the lua file to the scripts folder. Now that doesnt change anything yet. Now what has to be changed from the mpvpipe way via the mpv.conf file?

It says sth. about now supporting multiple windows. And how does that work? I've always worked with multiple folders and mpv-pipe1 and mpv-pipe2....and so on. Is there a different way now (with MPV/SMplayer)?

When I open SMplayer twice, only one video gets recognized by SVP.

Yes ok good then it must be a driver or MPC/MadVR thing.

Yes I checked that. I use MPC with MadVR and sometimes maybe MPV as well. Maybe its a Gsync prob but then again I deactivated it and it also happened ^^.
SVP is active in all videos but some begin to stutter if not selected not running as the primary window. I didnt have the problem before so it could be a Gsync a driver a graphicscard problem or a SVP update but then again there are dozens of settings in SVP and MadVR and well the NV control panel....I think Ive set up MadVR pretty good after going through this forum. However the best SVP settings for me are still automatic with 144fps (or 72fps) for my 144hz monitor setting it to video x3-x5 isnt as smooth.

When I use more than one mpc instance (multiple videos) then for most of the time only the video selected runs smooth the other vids seem to stutter from time to time even badly. Then when I click on one of the other videos the stutter is completely gone and then the other vids stutter.
Is there a way to get rid of that? Somehow all videos need to be in focus not just one. CPU and GPU load is minimal and the MadVR settings are low, no upscaling and stuff.

Or is that a problem with different frame rates like Vid 1 has 23,976fps and vid 25fps

Is it working with VLC 4.0 now?

Ok the problem was it is ignoring the clip if its too short big_smile Is there a way to change that so it works with like 5 seconds clips?

When I play MKVs or MP4s via MPV then SVP is working. When I play MOV or MXF files its not working. Isnt there a way to activate SVP somehow with mov or mxf files? Those are the output files for high quality 4k HDR10 stuff from Premiere Pro

I have asked this months ago maybe something changed or can change. Who has to do what so that VLC and SVP work with hardware decoding? What is the problem there why cant this work? Right now even at 75% speed or sth. its a stuttering mess.

Ok god bless you its working again smile

There was just a Windows 10 update and now the shit doesnt work anymore. With MPC it says in yellow on top:

"SVSmoothFps: unable to init GPU-based renderer [code 0xFF] C:\Users........\SVP4\scripts\160cd4.avs, line 44)

What now, you updating the good stuff?

Mhh you got any ideas why its not working (anymore)? 2 different folders (mpv64 and mpv642) with 2 different exe and conf files in each folder (mpv.exe and mpv.conf / mpv2.exe and mpv2.conf) with 2 different ipc-server names ("mpvpipe and "mpvpipe2") and I added both folders to the "path" directory and I added both exe files in SVP (seperated with a ",") and I added "mpvpipe,mpvpipe2" to the mpv_pipe path in SVP. Now I know it worked months ago somehow. SVP should check for multiple instance names (divided with a "," or not?!).
God bless you in advance

Unbelievable, it worked. God bless you smile

I copied the folder 2 times so I had mpv64,mpv642,mpv643 folders. I added the 2 new folders to the "Path" directory and changed the exes to mpv2.exe and mpv3.exe

I also added mpvpipe2, mpvpipe3 in the conf files and in SVP. And I added the paths in SVP to the mpv2.exe and mpv3.exe
And I think the multiple value needed to be changed. Its at 8 now. With 0 or 2 it didnt really work properly?!

Anyway it works now smile SVP Pro is a goddamn nice tool god bless you all smile And the MPV is usually smoother and better to handle than MPC-HC so its nice that works now with multiple instances.

Just wanted to quote myself on this one cause it doesnt work anymore and I'd just like to know if something changed in SVP? Or it doesnt work with a newer MPV version anymore? Anyway it doesnt work anymore with 2 different ipc-server names anymore. Added "mpvpipe,mpvpipe2" in SVP but SVP only recognizes 1 MPV instance. A shame

Is there a way for SVP to kick in faster in mpc? When I use the mpc-hc looper and a sequence replays it stutters and takes 2-5 seconds till SVP kicks in. Is there a way to make it work like with MPV/MPC-QT? They have their own A-B loop functions though

Ok MPV will soon get real HDR support I think. They are working on it so the display will turn in the HDR mode.

Ah damn. So still no HDR SlowMo option and VLC is also useless for slowmo smoothness:(

The 2 things we have to find out: how to get hardware acceleration working with vapoursynth and then how to make HDR work in VLC. Then we'd have slowmo HDR stuff smile

Same here. Installed VLC 3.0.1
The read/write rights are all there. I copied over the dll and renamed it (deleted the .30 ofc) and now there is the Vapoursynth filter yes. What then? With or without the mark SVP doesnt kick in. The python stuff is already there as MPV and so on works.

Maybe that 3.0.1 build isnt working

Edit: Ok had to turn off hardware acceleration. Now SVP kicks in. BUT doesnt work with 90 or 120fps...only with 60 and why is it stuttering with 0.5x speed? Smooth for 1-2 seconds then big stutter and smooth again....apparently due to turned off hardware acceleration?! Its all pretty useless then though

Edit 2: 120fps working if option "force the exact value" is turned off. Still stuttershit with only 50% speed.....is VLC that bad or is there a trick? There has to be a way to make SVP working with hardware acceleration on or its a stuttermess, at least with 50% speed or below.....
