Topic: SVP 4 Mac not processing 4K MKV files

Hi there, I use Mac Mini M1 - SVP 4 for mac latest version. I can enjoy 60hz in 1080p / 720p videos... but SVP 4 doesn't work on 4K resolution media files. Can someone help me here please.

Let me share few details here...

I use VLC latest 3.0.18 along with SVP plugin for VLC.

When I play 1080p or 720p videos SVP can boost the frames in VLC to specified frames by me. (its 75fps in this case)

But If I play 4K videos, there was no effect and the 4K video played in native 24fps.

I tested with more than 10 different 4K files (MP4 and mkv) as well.. vlc did not play it higher fps thru SVP plugin.

Please check message about the cause of it in SVP log:
SVP menu Information > Events log

Probably your 4K video has 24 fps. VLC can increase framerate up to x3. It is VLC limitation. So, use Movie frame rate x3 coefficient ratio or 72 fps target framerate.

When I play 4K videos, I see this error in the SVP log.. unsupported color format VLC. I have attached the screenshot. Please find it here. it occurs with all the 4K files I have (not just an error with a particular media file)

No matter which PC that I try with VLC with (and I've tried lots), the videos always jerk and stutter. Never worked out why this was, and the same videos play fine with MPC-BE. I just don't get the love about VLC. <Shrugs>.
