Topic: MPC-HC Has Stopped Working

http://i1271.photobucket.com/albums/jj623/jeffr15/SubTitles_zpsd7a83243.png
I thought I would start here with this, but it may a problem with ffdshow raw filter.
The forced sub title track on "Million Dollar Arm" is not embedded with in the DTS-HD Master, it's in a separate track that has to be enabled along with the DTS-HD track.
The other track is English (eng) (pgs)
However when the forced sub titles come into play, MPC-HC crashes as what you see in the screen shot.
Maybe I should be contacting MPC and giving them a dump file ?
Thanks !

Re: MPC-HC Has Stopped Working

How did you open your subs?
1) MPC-HC - View - Options... - Subtitles - Misc
2) ffdShow - Subtitles
3) ...

1 is better than 2 wink

Re: MPC-HC Has Stopped Working

While the movie is playing, I have been right clicking and selecting "Sub-Titles" and then choosing the track with the forced subtitles.
However, it seems to be working if I right click and select "Filters" > LAV Splitter Internal > and then choosing the track with the forced sub titles from with in the "LAV Splitter Internal" window.

Seems that it doesn't like having the sub title track (any track) being chosen directly from the menu when I right click while the move is playing.

Quite temperamental...
Why would it make a difference ?

Thanks.

As I can see You need autoload external Subtitles when file opening. Do you?
Then 1 and 2 from previous post is just your case.

Re: MPC-HC Has Stopped Working

The only thing I can find that's remotely related to "Auto load Sub-titles" is Auto-Load Audio Files" and that is checked already.
But it doesn't matter, as long as I can get it to work with out it crashing.
Thanks.
Where is the Auto-Load Sub-Title button ? Just curious...

MAG79
1) MPC-HC - View - Options... - Subtitles - Misc
2) ffdShow - Subtitles

It these two places you can adjust rules of external Subtites autoload.
I prefer 1) because it use hardware subtitle rendering.

Re: MPC-HC Has Stopped Working

Here we are again, this same problem as in my first post, only this time my solution from post 3 doesn't work anymore.
The crash wasn't happening at first, but after I selected MadVR as a DirectShow Video in the Output tab, this is when the crash started happening _ or so it would seem.
Selecting another DirectShow Video Output does not correct the problem _ my previous one was Sync Renderer.
I've tried resetting MPC-HC back to defaults and that does not help.
Disabling ffdshow Raw Video filter by unticking the box in External filters corrects the problem, but then there is no SVP.

Been at this for over an hour and I don't know what to do _ maybe reinstalling SVP less MadVR ???  Starting from scratch, so to speak.
Can't seem to find a way to create the MadVR as unavailable _ assuming that MadVR is even causing the problem.

Did you try to reset madVR settings?

Re: MPC-HC Has Stopped Working

I actually couldn't find the settings for madVR, madVR was installed automatically when bundled with SVP and I can't find the control panel _ no matter though, I think I found the problem.
After installing the latest version of MPC-HC, it still crashed again and it pointed directly to ffdshow filter as the problem _ see screen shot.

The version that gets installed with SVP 3.1.7 is 5433, which seems to be the problem, so I reverted back to 4532 and all appears to be well.
At this point I can't be sure if 5433 did or didn't cause the crash in the beginning, but it would seem at this point that version 5433 is the problem.
Ffdshow version 4533 is not even listed on their web site, version 5432 is stated to be the latest version, so I am not sure where you are getting 5433 from ???
It seems unstable. The movie where it does this is "The Woman In Gold" Blu-ray region "A", so far that is the only one that causes the crash _ other sub-title tracks on other Blu-rays don't seem to do it.
But then again I've only been running SVP 3.1.7 for just a few days.

Re: MPC-HC Has Stopped Working

OK, I'll try it later and if you don't hear from me, you may assume that my crash has been fixed.  big_smile
The WiKi needs to be updated.
Clicking on the link with in the WiKi page for ffdshow brings you here, which brings one to 4532 as the latest version.
