Are you sure it's 60 fps by interpolated the frames not only to make 24 fps -> 60 fps by only change the speed?

FYI, for some video sources/shows, Horriblesubs version love to stutter.

See the video frame rate using mediainfo to know why.

Try to re-install SVP 4 because the plugin is uninstalled too when you uninstalled SVP 3.1.7

1. Are you using Windows 10?
2. Did you recently upgrade gpu driver? (you're using nvidia, right)
3. Do you use Avisynth+?
4. Did you change some system setting before you're experiencing this? (Like no.2, maybe you installed something or not)
5. Have you try to play video without SVP?
6. etc that you've come to remember something, big_smile

It's hard to attack the problem because it seems the problem is not in SVP, maybe.

Xenonite

I got "Platform returned 126" error. What is that?

Is there any way to test it? I simply did it by copying it to plugin folder in SVP folder though.

If I remember it correctly, I heard DX12 has best performance among all DX versions for gaming. It saves about ~20% CPU performance (or GPU? ).

Ok, the problem is solved itself lol

I guess after several Windows 10 updates, it doesn't appear anymore smile

It's still Technical Preview and the provided interface still basic so I can't edit the setting like I do with SVP 3.1.7.

Since I mainly use SVP 3.1.7 and the SVP 4 will be unused so I just uninstalled it.

The finished product will be lot better, you should try it when the devs finally release it big_smile

Oh. I think the problem is in video itself, maybe it has frame rate like 24< framerate <25 ? e.g. framerate is 24.123?

I don't know how to disable the message itself though.

RLBURNSIDE

No, this more like about driver's issue than SVP itself. In NVidia, there is change in NVidia since certain driver version number. (I think it's about NVidia trying to change their OpenCL or whatnot) so it will break/crash the software the relied on OpenCL.

Updating the driver won't help.

Disclaimer: I don't have an NVidia GPU tongue

Right click at SVP icon tray and choose Settings->Disable SVP

If this is happened with all video, there's high chance that you set the "Target frame rate" wrong.
Set it back to "To screen refresh rate" to correct the refresh rate.

If you're curious how SVP 4 TP fare, you can always try it without uninstalling SVP 3.1.7

I've installed SVP 4 TP twice, and uninstalled it too twice.

The pricing and other information are available at the bottom of story page, or at the TP download page itself.

Higher setting not necessarily yields better result.

In my case, I am only watching anime and in anime there's so many scenes with "thin lines", the default setting gives me MV grids 12px,
but, even when I change it 16px, the scenes with those thin lines are easily distorted, especially when the scenes itself already in high motion.

So I change my setting (lower it to precise) the MV grids to 24px, and I only tweak the scene.limit in override.js to change the interpolation method when the scene itself already in high motion.

In short, in my case, MV grid 24px yields better instead of 12px, and further more, it even saves me ~10-20% CPU.

So to make it not out of topic big_smile, depends on demand, both are quite enough for SVP, and newer generation should be better choice smile

Thank for suggestion, I'll try several case to see which one that lead those glitches.

This is the pic when SVP enabled
This is when disabled

After a while, now, it seems the glitches are greatly reduced to the point unnoticeable or non-existent (this is really strange), is it possible Windows doing something in background when that glitches happened?

Recently I observed that the images have glitch in many scenes, see the picture that I successfully screenshot it below with SVP enabled
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/jjGEQFxUWR0zYvXnaMrM2QBjzR6t40F-W04b5TQk-3E4_ov2vWe217FpXFZMLNX1yZ1dvytKfdm8bK4=w1207-h561

and compare it with the one without SVP below

link, screenshot without SVP disabled

The first picture is the pic that I took with SVP enabled while the second is disabled. This glitches appear in many scenes to the point those are very noticeable.

I haven't tried with different renderer but for now that pics were taken when I was using madvr.
UPDATE: When I try using EVR CP for the output renderer, there's no glitch like above so this is madvr problem? But this is only happened when using madvr+svp, if only madvr, the video is showed fine. My madVR version is 0.88.16, the newest is 0.88.21. I'll update again after upgrading my madvr version.
UPDATE 2: It seems these glitches are very random, sometimes it very noticeable sometimes there's no. Is this possible because Windows only busy when I happened to observe those glitches?

Is there anyone who has same problem with me?
Is there any idea how to fix this?

thanks.

PS: those pic I save as jpg because the original png file has 2.5mB each while the jpg each is 250kB

You can try this post and this

Since this is repeated issue, maybe admin want to add the ".dll" or the post the solving this kind of problem to the sticky thread.

Have you tried to rollback into old ram before you upgraded your PC?
Perhaps the old ram has different DDR version with this newly upgraded one?

While I don't know the exact way to solve this, I suggest you do the workaround:
1. Using PotPlayer portable, put it in different drive (e.g. in drive D or other).
2. Go to that PotPlayer portable and make the shortcut for it (right-click the .exe and choose "create shortcut", you can rename the shortcut to whatever you like).
3. Cut and paste that shortcut to your Start Menu (C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\, change that <your username> with the actual your username folder, make sure to configure "show hidden folder" because AppData is hidden.).
4. The shortcut should be appear in Start Menu, now open the PotPlayer portable itself and press F5 to open the configuration.
5. Look for Association tab over there, and choose your preferred video file extension to played with your PotPlayer.

The above are just workarounds, to really solve the problem, you need several different player to check whether this is only limited to your PotPlayerMini.exe, and try to play with and without the SVP and observe what it gives. (You can try to use MPC-HC, MPC-BE, VLC etc, all of those don't have to be installed).
If you can remember, maybe you want to trace back when the last time you can play it fine and check whether at time you installed something or do something with control panel.

I never have problem like this so I don't know for sure what causing it smile

As far as I understand, SVP (the Manager and svp-flow) is not a renderer.

But, yes, I would be happy if most process lifted to GPU (just like DXVA native). cmiiw

From the manual:

Attention: GPU acceleration enhances the frame interpolation quality and reduces up to the half of the CPU load (depending on FRC settings), but it won't be able to free up the CPU load completely or allow interpolation on a very weak CPU even with a very strong graphic card.

aw.. your potplayer don't have the 4gb patch error big_smile so it is potplayer problem?

EDIT: Tried copying your portable app exe to my main potplayer (for exe testing) and it also saying 4gb patch.. so this I assumed problem on Potplayer? sad

I think the problem is your installed PotPlayer, since the portable version play it correctly.

I suggest you to do clean re-install your PotPlayer.
(Clean re-install means remove it first, and install it again after that).

Is the CPU utilization equal to reduction of artifacts amount?
If yes, what setting that I need to tweak in order to achieve that (of course without affecting the smoothness itself) ?

... I even copy the exe to other folder and patch ... and patch it and says "couldn't open executable!"

Maybe you want to try this?
PotPlayer portable, setup the player with usual setting.

What are the user controls in SVP 4 that will be (roughly) available/unavailable compared to SVP 3?

I tried the Tech Preview, it seems it still in Basic interface, right?
