Solution (not final, but working for your, I think):
- SVP menu - Information - Hidden settings
- change there ReloadAVSFactor value to 0.8 or to 0
- close and exit notepad
- exit and reopen SVP

Try it please.

Seems to be that this setting fixed it.

Regarding my other problem (skippy playback for 10 seconds when starting video) - I've read about problems on another topic with # of threads set to auto. I have core i7-960 with 8 logical cores, so according to suggestions read on that topic, I've modified the # of threads to 16. Now, the skippy playback less skippy and ends faster, also the video feels "more smooth". I've not modified any other settings.

Is there any way I could have SVP or something similar like InterFrame kinda Motion Interpolation plugin scripts running in the background as I was playing a PC gaming in either a windowed mode or full screen? If I could cheat my 3D games that run 30hz to run 60hz... This would be an amazing thing... No need for crappy HDTV and their Motion Interpolation software trickery and marketing!

This would be a dream. Is there anyway to implement the real time use of this plug in as a DLL or something that would run along side of the PC game? I think it is possible because you can you use it in real time with videos and video streams...

Does anybody know of an external video processor that would add Frame rate conversion : motion interpolation in real time? THAT DOES NOT COST 75K dollars haha.

Bad Idea!

The TV just let You feel, that actually more frames drawn on screen. To play any games with better framerates, You have to buy more powerful hardware. For movies or any video it's good, to have better framerate, because input lag doesn't matter at all.

For flash games (with fixed framerate) it may sounds as a good idea, but think about it: input lag would be drastically increase. Try it on the same screen (TV), with and without picture enhancers (Samsung TVs has a so called "Game Mode", which option disables all enhancements made by the TV - thus decrease input lag).

What player and decoder are you using?

I've no different player, other than included in SVP 3.1.4.

The player is MPC-HC version 1.6.5.6366 (744df1c).

Strange that in previous SVP versions, it won't use together the LAV and madVR. But now, it uses both. The issues comes out for every 1080p videos, but not comes out when playing 720p videos.

Hi!

According to this error log, what the problem could be?

Symptoms:
- When playing 1080p videos (doesn't matter which), after around 15-30 minutes video freezes for a second, then continues (the script restarts). So I know, that there's a memory leak... And the message window is there in the background stating, that script has been restarted.
- When I start playing videos, the first 10 second is very low framerate, then something happens and video plays smooth afterwards.

Hi There!

I'm sorry, I had some other issue, so I could not post. So... I figured out what caused the artifacts on DVDs. There's an FFDSHOW setting called "speedup tricks".

So... without that setting, artifacts are gone. But... with or without that setting, the DVD playback stutters w/svp.

HD content (MKV files) are just amazing with SVP but DVD has some problems. I don't know why it stutters. It seems that it "jumps" a few frames in every one or two seconds.

Please advise!

Thanks

Thanks! Blocking Matroska, preferring LAV Splitter solved the mistery. This topic can be closed:)

This video is really amazing with SVP in this quality, anyways, it cannot correct stuttering in some parts, which is a mistake made by the director and/or who cut the film.

Chainik, could You please tell me, which options to be modified in FFDSHOW settings, after default SVP 3.1.1 installation?
I did not modify any FFDSHOW settings, only SVP profiles.

Hello!

I have a movie file, extension MOV, format: Apple ProRes. It play's in MPC-HC with sound only, seems to be that Haali Media Splitter kicks in, but ffdshow not (thus SVP won't smooth this video). I tried to rename the file to .AVI or .MKV no luck. VLC player 2.0.1 plays this file just fine (2.0 doesn't).
Do You have any clue, how could I get this file work with SVP 3.1.1?

Is that normal, that DVDs are so weird? Even if SVP 3.1 (3.1.1) is better in al ways in perspective of quality and usage of system resources, DVD-s are stuttering and has lot of colored boxes on screen (artifacts).
Any other files are just perfect, including SVP tube.

MAG79 thank You. Running it without rightclick, run as administrator... it works. Strange, because at home, it's exactly the opposite.

From software perspective, the only difference between the 2 computers are:

Home: Windows 7 Professional x64, not domain member, user is local administrator
Work: Windows 7 Enterprise x64, domain member of the company I work for, user is local administrator (yet).

UAC is on default level and turned on both computers.

TY again:)

You need to run SVPMgr once with Administrator rights, exit and run it again by usual way.

If it helps I will happy smile This error fixed in new version SVP which will be released soon.

Good luck.

I installed SVP 3.0.6 full, it comes together with FFDSHOW. I did not installed any other versions. Like I said, it worked a few times, but I cannot figure out what could caused the problem. It could be either the Visual package 2010 or the Viusal package 2008 SP1 or something that I installed after SVP (but it has nothing to do with it). Also I don't know why complete removal and reinstallation not helps...

FFDShow distributive you can find in the menu @Start - SVP - Distributives (if you install full SVP package) or in download section of our site

Hi all!

I have some problem with SVP 3.0.6 on another computer. It's Dell Optiplex 990 (Core i7-2600k, 2pcs of Radeon HD6450 in CrossFire, Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit, SVP 3.0.6 default installation, no other codecs).

It worked a few times right after installation, but now it's not. I'm suspecting that it cannot work together with some new Visual C++ Redistributable 2008 or 2010 or 2008 SP1.

I tried to reinstall SVP a few times, it doesn't help, even if I reinstall the Visual C package (since it's installation does not remove the updates and other versions).

The same problem persists with all movies SVP could play.

Which settings?

thanks

They are not wrong values. They are just default. Yes, by default install of SVP, only MKV files should be played smoothly. If You want other formats to use SVP, You need to configure MPC-HC (disable it's internal filters and codecs) and FFDSHOW to gather those formats and play them. If FFDSHOW plays a video and SVP Manager is running, SVP kicks in and smooth Your video.

With madVR it doesn't work for me either.

For DVD You may have to untick the relevant codecs in MPC-HC on left and right sides (MPEG2) and in FFDSHOW You have to put a tick on DVD decoding in the codecs section.

Non-privileged process (SVP) can't "talk" with privileged one (ffdshow instance inside MPC-HC). That's the reason.

"normally", does SVP and MPC-HC has to run together as non-admin?

Yes, sure.

I did not modify or alter MPC-HC installation settings in any way. I did not set anyting on it's properties. It's the same for UAC, it's not disabled, nor any settings modified.

So it's a miracle. I wash my hands big_smile

Okay, great! That's why I suggest, If someone runs into the same issue, this could be one of the causes. I think even Microsoft doesn't understand the logic behind their operating system  smile

First instance of mpc-hc is "disabled" and it means it's running with user privileges, second one is "not allowed"

(I've to check "show processes from all users" first for "not allowed" value to show)
and it's running as admin.

So you just have to figure out why your MPC-HC runs as admin. May be you've got "Run this program as administrator" option checked at "Properties" -> "Compatibility" page and some strange (="non default") UAC settings?  hmm

Chainik! Since I just did a default installation of SVP, I did not modify or alter MPC-HC installation settings in any way. I did not set anyting on it's properties. It's the same for UAC, it's not disabled, nor any settings modified.

All are running under the same user (me), but:

SVP manager - if I start normally, UAC virtualization is not greyed out - SVP not working. "Waiting for ffdshow video..."

SVP manager - if I start it by right click "Run as administrator...", UAC virtualization option is greyed out - SVP works normally.

Are you going to check if your player really is NOT running as administrator?

No way to check, only that greyed out "UAC virtualization" option in task manager. Option is grey, somebody told me (maybe You), it means the player runs as admin. According to this, default installation of SVP makes the MPC-HC running as admin by default. But the SVP manager - if I just start it normally - has "UAC virtualization" option not greyed out, and SVP not works. "Waiting for ffdshow video..." and that's it. The icon is not freezed If I start to play a movie, just simply not works.
If I start the SVP manager as admin, SVP works seamlessly.

Suggestion, which also could post up to the webpage, help section:

Starting SVP manager by rightclick on the shortcut and "Run as administrator..." might solve this problem. For me it works (this is the only way, SVP works). OS is: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
