Topic: waiting for ffdshow video...

Hi to All.
I've installed on my rig (W7 x64 - i7 950 - GTS 450 ) last release of SVP (with all default settings) but it seem doesn't work totally.

1) It works fine only with mkv or BD files, but without madVR video render! (MADVR is registred and works, but SVP doesn't start: it waiting for ffdshow video...)

2) DVD files don't work with all video render (Hali, EVR, madvr...) SVP waiting for ffdshow video...   same error!

Any idea?

thanks to all.

Re: waiting for ffdshow video...

With madVR it doesn't work for me either.

For DVD You may have to untick the relevant codecs in MPC-HC on left and right sides (MPEG2) and in FFDSHOW You have to put a tick on DVD decoding in the codecs section.

Why with default settings MPC-HC and ffdshow may have wrong values?
Which settings?

thanks

Turn off internal decoders in madVR. It will SVP to work with madVR render.

SVP needs in ffdShow to make video smooth. You must to enable ffdShow when playing DVD. For this purpose you need to switch off all internal DXVA decoders in your player.

Can you show your DS-filters list while playing DVD?

They are not wrong values. They are just default. Yes, by default install of SVP, only MKV files should be played smoothly. If You want other formats to use SVP, You need to configure MPC-HC (disable it's internal filters and codecs) and FFDSHOW to gather those formats and play them. If FFDSHOW plays a video and SVP Manager is running, SVP kicks in and smooth Your video.

There are many ways to configure. There is one condition: ffdShow must be loaded. It is simple.
I will help you to write such guide. What would you want to insert in it?
