thxz for your reply. And what was the option 'Blend Frames To Screen Refresh Rate' for?

Is there a manual or wiki in English already for SVP 3.1.1?

I ve been using the Oppo BDP-93 for a few months but I really missed SVP so I just build a new HTPC just for SVP smile (i7 2600k + GTX 460 + 4gb ddr3 memory). Looking for smoothness but I am not looking for the best SMOOTHNESS but looking for the least artifacts. Content I m running is only 23,976fps full Blu-Ray rips. Play the content on my JVC projector. Output in nvidia control panel is 1920x1080p59.

So looking for a detailed explanation and recommended settings for:

Frames Interpolation Mode
SVP Shader
Motion Vectors Interpolation Mode
Motion Vectors Grid
Decrease Grid Step
Search Radius
Motion Vectors Precision
Wide Search

The rest of the settings (which are not so much smile) I know what they do.

I ll only play full 3d Blu-Ray rips. Do you think SVP will support this in the future?

Maybe I have to explain what I m looking for:

Yesterday I had a demo of a Sony VW95 projector. This projector has a Frame Interpolation mode that also works in 3D mode. The result is smooth 3D with 3D Blu-Ray content but with some artifacts.
The projector I bought (Epson TW9000) does have a FI function but only works for non 3D (and of course I m going to use SVP for this instead of the FI function of the Epson!). It would be nice if SVP will work on the Epson when playing 3D Blu-Ray content!!

I just bought a Epson TW9000 3D projector. Does SVP support 3D?

Is SVP compatible with the internal player of XBMC?

Now I understand (I think  big_smile)
So am I correct that it does not matter of I set my NIVIDIA output to 50, 59 or 60 (SVP on 'to screen refresh rate')? This is all ok to use?
If so, am I correct that a higher output (Hz) will give me smoother picture ('more' SVP result), higher CPU usage and more artifacts?
So 50Hz will give less smoothness (but still very smooth), less CPU usage and less artifacts and 59Hz will give me more smoothness, more artifacts and higher CPU usage?

Chainik
thanks for your reply Chainik but I still don t understand it  sad

Let me try to explain again what I mean:
A Blu-Ray movie runs at 23,976fps. To display this the best way on a display without the use of SVP you would need to feed your display device with 23.976Hz, 47.952Hz or 71.928Hz correct?
When using SVP the best option is to double the frame rate right? (or of course choose to screen refresh rate when a display device supports 47.952Hz which is then the same as double frame rate I think?) So what if a display device, like my JVC projector, DOES NOT support 47.952Hz or 71.928Hz, but only supports 23.976Hz. Then I will have to use a Hz that is supported by my display device and that is 50, 59 or 60Hz. But this IS NOT a multiple of 23.976 so this can t be good right?

Please help me understand, what am I missing? Or am I correct with what I say here?

btw: I just bought a i7 2600k (only for SVP! smile)

Can you please please please  big_smile  tell the release date for 3.1?

Ok, so the 295.73 are good to go and I can skip 275.33 and my just fresh installed system?

I don't understand you because you say "Tearing works fine without stops" and next "I m not getting is the frequencies that I m 'upscaling' to". It is contradiction. Show me the screenshot when you not getting the frequency needed?

Best choice for 23.976 fps is multiple refresh rate. In your case when choose from 50 Hz and 59 Hz and 60 Hz I'd select 59 Hz (59.94). It has minimal denominator (2) in smooth coefficient (5:2).

Because we both not speak in our native languages things are passing each other here  smile
What I m trying to say is that a movie is 23,976 fps and that one have to play this on 23.976, 47.952 or 71.928Hz right? If I set SVP to 'to screen refresh rate' and my screen is on 59,94 this is not a double or tripple of 23.976 so how can this work out good? It seems like it does (because I have no tearing and dropped frames) but how is this going good? I don t understand because it does not make sense. Are you understanding now what I mean?

One more thing:
I want to give ReClock a try. I need the spdif optical core DD/DTS signal. Will I be able to make ReClock work?

Yes, it also happens with the SD setting. The exact error I get is:

avs2avi.exe has stopped working
Please close the program

EDIT: With SD I only get the notification one time and with the Full-HD video setting I get it the notification 6 times with a lot of 'N/A' reported in the results

A few questions about SVp mark.
First of all I get a notification during the test sequences that some program called 'avi2.exe' or something like that (not behind pc now but it was called something like that) has stopped working and I can only click on CLOSE then. (SVP mark is running further in the background). Is this normal?

And then the results, I cannot click the 'share results online' button, how comes that? So I saved the file as .log file, how do I put these results (automatically?) in the online results?

2. FSB must be multiplier=2/4 to RAM clock, so prefer FSB=400

With a fsb that high (333=default on my mb) I would need a higher NB Voltage don t you think?

3. MEMORY VOLTAGE does not depend on the FSB so much, maximum 0.1-0.2V DDR3? See the spec for the normal voltage for you RAM

? With a higher FSB my memory will run at a higher speed so the Memory Voltage has it s affect on this very much?

5. -

Whats ' - ' ?

6. At the higher load MB drop voltage a bit, so OVER VOLTAGE take advantages to negotiate this drop

But what is the actual difference between CPU OVER VOLTAGE and CPU VID?

7. Southbridge Dont tuch this voltage

check!

And even over 4.0GHz QX9650 have't enought powerful for i7 profile

Who's saying I m aiming for the i7 profile? All I did was trade my q9450+$15 for a qx9650. Like I said a no-brainer I think wink
btw. I doing video hardware acceleration with SVP with a GTX460 so I might be able to reach i7 after all?

I could trade my q9450+$15 for a q9650 so this upgrade was a no-brainer.

Hi,

I just made a good deal on a QX9650 processor which has an unlocked multiplier. I hope that I will get more out of SVP. This is great for my Asus P5G41T-M LE which seems to have a limitation of the FSB of 399 (I used to own a Q9450 and with my board I just could not get the FSB past 399 no matter what I did with voltages etc.).

I m on watercooling so I want to give 4.0Ghz a shot with the QX9650. What I want to know is how to do this so I have some questions about this

1. CPU VID
With the QX9650 an option comes available in my bios when changing the multiplier from it s default 'auto' setting to a manual multiplier. This is the so called CPU VID which can be set from 1.1375V - 1.6000V. Can someone tell me what this does and what recommended voltage is to set it on looking at my goals of 4Ghz? And also what the maximum safe voltage is to put it on?

2. FSB
What the best/highest performance value to put the FSB on (in my BIOS the FSB is called CPU freq):

333 (default) with multiplier 12 which results in 3.996Ghz
348 with multiplier 11.5 which results in 4.002Ghz
363 with multiplier 11 which results in 3.993Ghz
380 with multiplier 10.5 which results in 4.000Ghz
399 with multiplier 10 which results in 3.990Ghz

I know these values also have their influence on the speed of my DDR3 memory, 2x2 GB Kingston KVR1333D3N9K2/4G. (With my previous q9450 I owned I ran my system on FSB 399 with x8 multiplier (3.2Ghz). With this setting my memory speed was 1596Mhz and it was stable).

3. MEMORY VOLTAGE
I can set this from 1.21000 - 2.47000. I assume it will depend on the FSB I choose if I can leave it on 'auto' (default) or increase it to max. 1.6-1.7?

4. NB VOLTAGE
I can choose from 1.12500 - 1.51875 for this. What does it do? What would you guys recommend with the goal (4Ghz) I have? And what the max safe voltage?

5. VTT VOLTAGE
I can choose from 1.20000 - 1.59375 for this. What does it do? What would you guys recommend with the goal (4Ghz) I have? And what the max safe voltage?

6. CPU OVER VOLTAGE
I can choose from 0.01000 - 0.63000 for this. What does it do? What would you guys recommend with the goal (4Ghz) I have? And what the max safe voltage? Also a not selectable option called 'Offset Sign' appears with a '+' when switching from 'auto' to manual.

7. SB 1.5V VOLTAGE
I can choose 1.5V or 1.6V. What does it do? What would you guys recommend with the goal (4Ghz) I have?

Thanks for all input!

Give me an example. I don't understand you without any numbers and screenshots.

I think you don t understand what I m trying to say here (wish I could speak Russian:)). What I m saying is that 23,976 material needs to be played at 23,976 or a multiple of this correct? My projector does not support 47,952Hz or 71,928Hz. It only support 23,976, 50 and 60Hz (and everything that s close to them). So how can it be going right when choosing 50 or 60 Hz on my display device (so NVIDIA as 1080p50 or 1080p59 (or 60)?

btw. Did you already test SVP with the latest NVIDIA driver that was just released and see performance improvements or decresement?

96

(68 replies, posted in Using SVP)

My LCD-monitor is the same: 50Hz works fine, 48Hz does not. You can try 72Hz mode for video 24fps x 3.

72Hz is not supported by my projector. Only 24, 50 and 60 (and everything that s close to them) is supported.

Does tearing test works fine at your projector? Vertical line must be moving smoothly without stops.
If not then you need to obtain video sync with your screen.

Tearing works fine without stops and smooth

But the thing I m not getting is the frequencies that I m 'upscaling' to. I m now playing with 1080p50 NVIDIA profile. ''Fresh'' and ''MonfreqD3D'' both has the same value (49,95) so this seems fine.
I also get no dropped frames during a movie reported by madVR. The only thing I don t get is that my movies run at 23,976fps and I m 'upgrading' this to 50. How could this be ok? I thought that it ALWAYS has to be a double, tripple etc. to ensure smooth playback?

Use 1M mode.

just founnd out that 50hz works on my projector (47,952/48 does not). Can I use 50Hz as output for NVIDIA and use 'to screen feresh rate' for all content inclusinf 23,976 movies?
@Noweol: 24=>60 1M ust gives me too many artifacts while 24=>60 2M is not smooth engh for me smile
This is why I thought to use 'to screen refresh rate' with 190x1080@50 as output profile for NVIDIA as 'compromise'.

MAG79
but tha s the problem, my display device (JVC RS25 projector) does not support 48 and 50Hz, but I do want to have more quality than to screen refresh rate@60 because this just gives way too much artifacts.

So what do you suggest to use for my display device, a digital projector which supports 23,24,25,30 and 60Hz?

Some of the settings are getting in place and I understand them better now. (still a lot of settings which I do not have any clue what they exactly do). But I ll need some more explanation about the framerate option and what they do exactly.

For instance, I ve noticed that 'to screen refresh rate' gives me the smoothest picture but more artifacts. I ve played with the 24=>60 2M and 1M options. I assume that with 1M more original frames are showed? 1M gives almost no artifacts but the picture is not so smooth. And what are the options to screen refresh rate/2 and /3 for and what do they do?

And with the 24=>60 option I assume I constantly have to manually swith between 24->60 and 25->60 because I have both 23,976 and 25fps material? And how does 30fps (TV) get handled with 24 or 25->60?
