Thanks for the responses. I have a 144hz 1440p monitor, i7-9700k, GTX 1070 and 16GB of RAM. I use SVP at 144fps now, but I can't stand the soap opera effect, which is why i use 1.5m...perfect balance IMO.

Blackfyre, I changed everything else you put and it looks nice.

But I will also test out the adaptive with the simple shader to see what it's like

By the way, the type of media I watch is often tv series (usually 1080p) and films.

I have the settings almost to what i want. I know for sure 1.5m mode is the best for me.

Which other settings should i change to reduce motion judder?

I have no clue what any of the motion vector options are, just copied what i found online...any I should change?

btw i normally have the precision on one pixel, just changed to two.

Maybe it wasn't 10bit, because now it's happening with that disabled. Just this horrible judder when there's movement. Happens randomly. Things were fine for a few days, now it's doing it again. It would make me think it's my gpu (GTX 1070 SC) but mpc-hc doesn't do that and my games run fine.

Well this is strange...never had an issue before. I keep 10bit enabled as i watch a lot of 10bit content. and when playing other videos, there never seemed to be an issue.

But i was watching a 20 minute 720p (about 600mb) episode that was not 10bit, yet with the setting still enabled there was sooo much judder/stutter... pretty much unwatchable... Same thing happened with a 2160p tv show. I thought it might be the huge size of the 4K show and how demanding it might be, but then i remembered that 600mb file doing the same thing.

I don't think it's my PC. (i7-9700k 3.8ghz, 250gb SSD, 16GB DDR4 RAM, GTX 1070 SC). Driver up to date too.

Maybe it's a problem with the recently updated version of vapoursynth? Not sure. I update SVP regularly and the fact that this never happened up until this point is alarming...just not sure if it's hardware or software issue.

Using mpv to play videos at 60fps

Windows 10 1809

1. I've been having a problem with mpv subtitles lagging (embedded vobsub)

They sometimes show up, sometimes halfway throughout a sentence. It's not so much  lag but like the subs are having a hard time showing up. some people say it's ffmpeg but since mpv comes prepackaged with SVP i don't really have any

control over that. can anyone help? Should i install ffmpeg separately? some say libass is the issue also

2. , so ive been testing  MPC-HC and while the subtitles work fine, i can't get it to display in 10bit. I've already tried exclusive fullscreen, enabling 10bit in madvr settings.

I've searched and searched...nothing has helped.

At least i dont think it's 10bit because svp normally says whenever i load up a video, mpv says 59.940/10bit, mpc-hc just says 59.940

App. settings -> GPU acceleration

This works good with mpv. Now it says 1080p/10bit.

But when i try with MPC-HC it doesn't say 10bit, even though 10bit is enabled in my renderer settings.

I can't decide between these two media players, to even start deciding i need to make sure mpc hc supports 10bit properly, or i'll just uninstall mpc entirely.

Thanks.

On a side note (referring to my other topic about choppy playback), it seems mpv handles motion better than mpc-hc, meaning there is less choppiness, even with upscaling. Is that just me? mpv might just be the way to go.

Thank you!!! Everything is good now smile

It only works if "GPU acceleration" is on. Is it?

I'm not sure. How to i enable it again?

At least i think so. Normally when i start up a video, SVP says something like "1080p/10bit", and now it just says 1080p...

10bit is enabled in the program and in nvidia control panel (I have a GTX 1070)...everything else indicates that 10bit is on, yet since SVP doesn't say it anymore, it has me worried.

Windows 10 Home.

EDIT: Just did a clean install of the 399.07 drivers, erased all profiles and enabled 10bit again. Still doesn't say it... So it's definitely not my driver.

Maybe 10bit is working but for some reason SVP doesnt say it is?? idk

yes, it's normal too that foreground objects fluidity is lower than background especially when they are moving in opposite directions

Oh okay, thanks. I only have a couple more questions if you don't mind... How do i set a certain profile as default? And all i have for this is ffdshow raw filter, i heard some people say to use LAV external filters as well (i only have LAV internally). Not sure if i should.

yes, this's normal

The movement of characters on screen looks choppy/low fps too, like they arent matching the 60. Is that normal?

A line is going across my screen, that's all i can notice. I don't think it's tearing.

For the most part, it's very nice. Works great with MPC-HC x64...but i have a strange issue.

I'm not sure how to put this...but when characters move on-screen, it looks like they're lagging...like they're a lower framerate than the rest of the video. And they have this weird motion blur/halo around them. It's strange.

I've been using this to watch GoT (1080p rip) the past few days.

It's definitely not a performance issue, because everything else is great.

Is this normal? Has anyone experienced this?
