Topic: SVP + display HDR mode

Hello,

has anyone managed to get SVP to work with display HDR mode in Windows 10?

As ffdshow raw filter doesn't support HDR passthrough, you I can't use mpc-hc with SVP for HDR sources.

I've tried mpv and VLC but none of them manages to put my TV into HDR mode, even without SVP.

I'm using GTX 1070 & Windows 10 Creator's update.

Has anyone managed to get this working? Thank you!

I am, but with madvr you have to use mpc-hc which requires ffdshow raw filter to work with SVP.
And ffdshow raw filter can't passthrough HDR info.

Re: SVP + display HDR mode

If FFDshow raw filter is your only hindrance, then maybe try using Potplayer, the 64-bit version. It requires the LAV filter, but not the FFDshow raw filter to work with SVP. As I recall, you have to go into SVP settings somewhere (maybe "all settings"), and go half way down the list and find the "Potplayer" settings area and delete "false" and type in "true". Then restart SVP, and you're good to go.

Re: SVP + display HDR mode

PotPlayer's built-in Avisynth/Vapoursynth processing is 8-bit only

mpv is the only hope with HDR

Was this ever resolved? Increasingly my cinematic videos are 4k HDR x265 and it would be awesome to be able to use SVP with them

Re: SVP + display HDR mode

Not yet.

Re: SVP + display HDR mode

HDR works with the latest update, but it stutters constantly when SVP is enabled, even if frame rate conversion is disabled. SVP must be disabled to stop the stuttering.
