Topic: Which kind of CPU is the best for svp?
Hi all, i will be straightforward.
Which one do you think is better (for SVP), the new AMD RYZEN series with more cores (6-8 cores), or the (4 cores) i7-7700k with higher speed? and why?

R7 1700 with B350chipset for overclocking.

R7 1700 is a kind of overkill - 50% CPU load while playing 4K at high settings. But you can easily keep it cool and quite at ~3.0 GHz @1.0V
Do you think i will need those gigantic cpu cooler (air cooler, i hate watercooler) if i want to play 4K at high settings ???
Can't imagine why you don't like watercooling but just make sure your cooler is rated for the CPUs TDP. If you're getting a new PC, getting a new Ryzen CPU makes sense for a few reasons. Still 1700 is probably overkill, and you'd have no trouble with an R5 like the 1600.
Assuming the pump lasts, the water in those AIOs evaporate after a few years, and there's always a (small) risk of leakage.
The refillable, copper AIOs are nice, but expensive.
I'm running with a Pentium G4560 and a Geforce GT 1030 - no problem at all handling SVP, and not costly at all!

It won't run 2x4K (4000*4000) stereo VR
