Re: Waiting for ffdshow video... issue

tecram

You must first disable fast channel switching in DVBViewer Pro
you can use ffdshow as decoder but you must enable mpeg2 decoding of ffdshow for SD satellite channels.
but it is better to use your own decoder in dvbviewer but add "ffdshow raw video filter" as PostProcessor
for this edit video PostProcessor plugin setting:
Help > Configuration folder > Plugins > PostProcessor.ini
edit:

[Setup]
PostProcessor=ffdshow raw video filter

[Postprocessors]

restart dvbviewer and select ffdshow raw video filter in  plugins > video PostProcessor

note: if Yo have problem with colors(blue > yellow) enable postprocessing in ffdshow raw video filter.

I prefer this method so for my onboard ATI GPU I can use Cyberlink video decoder (HAM) and ffdshow raw video filter as PostProcessor ( SVP use this for increase frame rate) and EVR Custom for Renderer.

Re: Waiting for ffdshow video... issue

Suggestion, which also could post up to the webpage, help section:

Starting SVP manager by rightclick on the shortcut and "Run as administrator..." might solve this problem. For me it works (this is the only way, SVP works). OS is: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

Are you going to check if your player really is NOT running as administrator?

Re: Waiting for ffdshow video... issue

second question - videopleer, file explorer, svp etc run under the same user?

No way to check, only that greyed out "UAC virtualization" option in task manager. Option is grey, somebody told me (maybe You), it means the player runs as admin. According to this, default installation of SVP makes the MPC-HC running as admin by default. But the SVP manager - if I just start it normally - has "UAC virtualization" option not greyed out, and SVP not works. "Waiting for ffdshow video..." and that's it. The icon is not freezed If I start to play a movie, just simply not works.
If I start the SVP manager as admin, SVP works seamlessly.

Rimsky wrote:

All are running under the same user (me), but:

MPC-HC has UAC virtualization option greyed out.
Explorer.exe has UAC virtualization option NOT greyed out.

SVP manager - if I start normally, UAC virtualization is not greyed out - SVP not working. "Waiting for ffdshow video..."

SVP manager - if I start it by right click "Run as administrator...", UAC virtualization option is greyed out - SVP works normally.

OS: Windows 7 pro 64 bit.

First instance of mpc-hc is "disabled" and it means it's running with user privileges, second one is "not allowed"

(I've to check "show processes from all users" first for "not allowed" value to show)
and it's running as admin.

So you just have to figure out why your MPC-HC runs as admin. May be you've got "Run this program as administrator" option checked at "Properties" -> "Compatibility" page and some strange (="non default") UAC settings?  hmm

Chainik! Since I just did a default installation of SVP, I did not modify or alter MPC-HC installation settings in any way. I did not set anyting on it's properties. It's the same for UAC, it's not disabled, nor any settings modified.

Yes, You're right, maybe for some reason, MPC-HC runs as admin. So? Does it modify anything in a way, that SVP is not working except I start it as admin? So... "normally", does SVP and MPC-HC has to run together as non-admin?

Properties for MPC-HC (in SVP default installation):

Non-privileged process (SVP) can't "talk" with privileged one (ffdshow instance inside MPC-HC). That's the reason.

"normally", does SVP and MPC-HC has to run together as non-admin?

Yes, sure.

I did not modify or alter MPC-HC installation settings in any way. I did not set anyting on it's properties. It's the same for UAC, it's not disabled, nor any settings modified.

So it's a miracle. I wash my hands big_smile

Okay, great! That's why I suggest, If someone runs into the same issue, this could be one of the causes. I think even Microsoft doesn't understand the logic behind their operating system  smile

Re: Waiting for ffdshow video... issue

Installed SVP_3.1.4.exe full (did not install mpc or madvr)

Followed instructions at http://www.svp-team.com/wiki/Daum_PotPlayer_with_DXVA

In my current Potplayer version, there is no "prefer" option, but everything else was set

Fixed in Preferences -> General -> Multiple launching: Play the clicked file (it was set "add the file to playlist")

Waiting for ffdshow video on systray icon mouseover.

Unhandled exception occurred at....... potplayer.dll

http://www.svp-team.com/forum/misc.php?item=2405

That's about it, I don't what else to offer at this time.

Please advise

thanks

I just special for you download and install PotPlayer 1.5.36073 Beta.
And I can select Prefer. Did you read instruction right?

select it and choose "Prefer" then press "Filter Information" button
http://www.svp-team.com/w/images/e/ec/Pot-dxva-6-en.jpg

SVP works fine with PotPlayer after all instruction steps are done.

What PotPlayer version did you install?
It must be 32bit version.

Re: Waiting for ffdshow video... issue

Turns out I was using the "Video Decoder" tab instead of the "Custom Filter manager" tab to install the ffdshow raw video filter.

It works now, but not very well, unfortunately.

I get this onscreen display (see below) which you must recognize during very choppy You Tube playback, and SVP even adversely affects playback of local files unless I turn SVP off.

I am unable to lower the video profile below 720x576@25.

Is my system too underpowered for SVP? My system tray cpu monitor reading doesn't match (is lower than) the onscreen reading I get from SVP

I've added further system info below

edit:  Follow up shows that if I exit SVP Manager and use only SVPTube, You Tube playback works pretty well, nice and smooth.

Potplayer did crash during a You Tube playback, but it was directly after I shut down the SVP Manager, so maybe the cpu was still affected, but subsequent trials have so far gone smoothly.

nolan_vede
DualCore Intel Pentium D 805

since it's slower than minimum system requirements

(which is Core2 Duo 2.0 GHz + any external video)
- don't expect much

but please pass SVPmark test and submit scores to the database, just for the memory smile we don't have any Pentium D results yet

Check please is all these tabs are present in your ffdShow?

http://www.svp-team.com/forum/misc.php?item=2421

If not then enable them from "Show / hide filters" tab.

1. Check the Remote control API is enabled.
2. Please relaunch SVP Manager and put here last launch log: SVP tray menu - Information - Last launch log.

I see all is correct in the log except one thing. User name is not ANSI. It has unicode letter at end: Paweł
Maybe this is the cause of ffdShow waiting error.

Can you add new English-named user to the system and try again?
Or another way: you can reinstall SVP with pointing settings folder to All Users.

http://www.svp-team.com/forum/misc.php?item=2424

Please check it.
