Re: stop video tearing?

does that tell you anything?
Yes. "Refresh rate: 0.00000 Hz" big_smile
It is not normal. Update your DirectX and video driver.
Graphic is bad. It must be strait horizontal lines (red and green).

when I print screen the tearing bar does not show it
It is normal, because tearing appears in the monitor, not at video. It is sync problem, problem of synchronization your video with your monitor. If you want you can shot it only on camera. wink

WinXP is old. We (I) have Win7. It is difficult to us to support winXP. Ask if you have any troubles with it. We will try to help.

I have DirectX 9.0c it is the lastest for XP.

I think I have the lastest driver, but I will see if there is a newer one.

Is this better??
Refresh rate varies from 52.xxxx to 62.xxxx is that normal??
Do I still need to get graph lines strait??

No. It is still bad.

How do you think? wink
I know I need. I see the difference. But I know nothing about you. hmm

Re: stop video tearing?

I am downloading new driver, my web is very slow so I will try new driver tomorrow.

Version         301.42 - WHQL
Release Date     Tue May 22, 2012
OS                     Windows XP
Language     English (US)
File Size          96.16 MB

Re: stop video tearing?

Hi
New driver has not made any difference.

Does this look ok now??
Refresh rate is steady now.

The only way to stop tearing was to set SVP shader to 1. Fastest, any higher and i get lots of tearing.
With SVP shader to 1. red and green lines are smooth any higher and lines get jagged.
Here are settings.
Any suggestions??

Any suggestions??

change "bicubic" to "bilinear"

Re: stop video tearing?

Chainik wrote:

Using bilinear does not help, still get lots of tearing if SVP shader higher than 1.

Re: stop video tearing?

I don't know. Either throw "8400 GS" to the trash bin OR use Win7 OR try madVR instead of EVR, comrade big_smile

Re: stop video tearing?

I wish I could trash 8400 GS, tovarisch.  lol
But I need SVideo TV Out, its the best card I could find that has it.  roll

I will see about madVR.

Re: stop video tearing?

what if just play 60 fps video without SVP? you can find one there (36 mb sampe)

Re: stop video tearing?

I will try that.
Will take me about 3 hours to download it.

It sounds like a dial-up 33600 line!  Cool big_smile

Re: stop video tearing?

Ya, I wish, its 28.8 dialup  mad

Re: stop video tearing?

gprs can do better

Re: stop video tearing?

When we are done with this I will be taking images I posted off my server, so if you want to keep them here upload them to your server and change the URL in the image tags in my posts, tovarisch.

Re: stop video tearing?

In ffdshow the script is

Try {
 svppath="C:\Documents and Settings\Worfs\Application Data\SVP 3.1\"
 import(svppath+"AVS\ffdshow.avs")
 delim=":"
 WriteFileStart(svppath+"Logs\SAR.txt", "ffdshow_sar_x","delim","ffdshow_sar_y")
 WriteFileStart(svppath+"Logs\avsFPS.txt", "FramerateNumerator()", "delim", "FramerateDenominator()")
}
Catch(err_msg) {
 ffdShow_source().Subtitle(err_msg)
 WriteFileStart(svppath+"Logs\AVSError.txt", "err_msg")
}

Can you add script for Setmemorymax(1024) and add in script so I can use 4 cores?
Maybe that would help me to use default SVP shader.

Re: stop video tearing?

airport
Can you add script for Setmemorymax(1024)
Yes. SVP tray menu - Information - Hidden settings - change value AVSmem setting, close and save, reopen video.

add in script so I can use 4 cores?
SVP tray menu - Processing threads - choose 4 or more. We find out that for best speed it must be in 1.823 times more than logical CPU threads count.
7 for 4 core CPU and 15 for 4 core CPU with HT. It is in case if you are using GPU-acceleration.

Re: stop video tearing?

CPU is AMD Phenom II X6 1100T, 6 cores 3.3GHz OCed to 4.028GHz, never throttles

As you can see Hidden settings is not there and Processing threads is not there.
Now what??

SVP tray menu - Interface type - Expert

Re: stop video tearing?

Yes thats what I thought.

But, when I mouse over Interface type nothing happens so I cant switch to Expert.
How can I switch to Expert now??

Re: stop video tearing?
