Been using K-Lite for years, never had problem like yours.
I even am using it with SVPFlow x64.

Do you use Codec Tweak Tool? There is 'Fixes' option over there.
It can detect and fix broken DirectShow filters installation.

Fixed and uninstalled, even used extra tools to see of codec errors, still won't do the job but thanks. After installing new windows, still have the same issue, now I have to look into Nvidia drivers and BIOS.

What happens if you set the LAVfilters decoder to "Off"?

When setting the LAVfilters decoder to "block" or remove it completely, the internal LAVfilters will comes up, looks like they have default settings.

The CPU and GPU usages are well below 20% when playing 720p(30fps) -> 1080p(60fps) videos. Even when the decoder/render queue drops to 1, same usage remains.

testing w/o SVP and Madvr, the problem remains

Check if you system is good enough for video playback and for SVP: run SVPmark and compare results.

E3 1230v2 and gtx 960, haven't been run into problems like this before.

I wonder what's the point installing SVPlight if you don't have LED lighting hardware?

I tried to tick full installation, avoiding other problems that caused this issue.

But did you try using Direct3D Fullscreen? tongue

(no seriously, try it)

Yes I have, it didn't make a difference, thanks for your help tho.

Update:
Found new temp solution.(see bottom) By replacing different component, even the player, the problem persisted with all possible combination, except temp solution 2. It's not svp, not madvr, not LAV filters, ffshow raw filters, even 3 of them removed, issue still persisted. Must be an issue across multiple filters or even OS + hardware(see below OS/BIOS/Driver replacement).

Control:
Hardware E31230-v2, gtx 960, h77chipset, RMi 650 PSU
Software SVP bundled ffshow,Lav, Mpc hc, madvr
All settings are default, brand new windows 10 OS
Latest driver for the card 361.75.

Issue summary(all videos):
Full screen playback lagged once per second. (Tearing test orange line 'twitching' often)(Exclude overlay-ed full screen and windowed)
Render queue drops, present queue drops to 0.
0-1 drop frames per second, sometimes with color tile artifacts(In the video not shown)
CPU, GPU usage under normal range.
(see https://youtu.be/WlQo4b96Qbw[Uploaded, note that follow the mouse movement are important])
(see log and images)

Possible solutions tried:
OS re-installation
Default settings for SVP4 software.
Direct3D Fullscreen.
Turn off filters except ffshow raw video.
Set Lav to copyback.
Set Lav to none.
Manually set cores to 7.
Disable SVP (Issue persisted)
Disable Madvr (used default output renderer) (Issue persisted)
Use another player (Potplayer Issue persisted)
Windows version update
Installing previous GPU driver version 350.12 and others
Reset BIOS
Replace LAV filters to haali filters

Temporary solution 1:Force overlay video progress bar to stays on top.
[Flawed, audio is not sync]Temporary solution 2:Replace Madvr to haali video renderer

Attached log file/images for help, thank you for reading. All the edit are summarized into the above reading friendly table. Pardon my grammar =].

I think you meant v0.89.17, it actually brings me performance issue along with Nvidia 359.00 driver. Was able to have 50% GPU load with image doubling NNEDI3 64 neurons. Now it takes more than 100% GPU load, also Nvidia CUVID is crashing MPCHC, I think we need to figure out what is happening with the latest Nvidia 359.00 driver.

First off, try the following three things if you haven't already...

1. In LAVfilters, set your decoder to "DXVA2 (copy-back)"

2. In MPC-HC, enable "D3D Fullscreen" or in MadVR enable "use Direct3D 11 for presentation"

3. In SVP, manually set processing threads to 7

If step 3 solved the issue, then you may want to try undoing the changes stated in steps 1 and 2 (assuming you didn't already have those options set that way).

Step 3 solved the issue, thanks for the help. I wouldn't suspect this because all cpu threads is running before, seems like this is some kind of a bug.

Spec:

Windows 10
GTX960
E3 1230v2

SVP Index = 1.00
CPU usage = 15%
GPU acceleration = OFF
Lav Hw acc = none
All madvr, external filters are tested and tweaked.
2 tests are testing on the control settings I have set on.

Results:
  • Scenario 2 - MP4 have no problem on any SVP shader.

  • Scenario 1 - MKV have perfect performance index, no dropped frames, time are synced just like Scenario 2 - MP4. But failed to provide a smooth output with all SVP shader except .23 (Madvr, SVP debug panel, log shown no error, but the output was like 10 fps)

I see you use avisynth.dll 2.6.0.3. It is not criminal but SVP has another optimized version of avisynth. I recommend to use avisynth from SVP bundle. Maybe it will solve your problem with freezes.
There are nothing more strange in your log. When SVP freez is happend? Just after smooth playback starts?

I guess avisynth.dll is indeed the (one of the)criminal, I replaced it with the one included in the SVP pack. And (part of the)bug is gone  tongue

After smooth payback starts, SVP program GUI will freeze but the video is still in smooth payback, which SVP at that moment will not able to detect any changes, including pausing stopping the video.

Here I found out that the language is not shown properly as well.

My windows7 language settings are traditional chinese(hong kong) which includes english.

Edit: reinstalled avisynth.dll now pause icon is properly displayed but closing playpack still causes the freeze

MAG79 wrote:

Can you put here your last launch log (SVP tray menu - Information) just after freezing and unfreezing SVP?

Thanks for helping, I have put it on already  cool

Here is the case:

A. SVP first opened, waiting for playback > playback started, working.

B. playback stopped at the middle, and resume to play. SVP will not turn to pause and keep working until it goes to C

C. previous playback closed, SVP freezed, icon stays green, does not response until
- right click (left clicks wont work)
- double click which unfreeze 5s after(see attachment #1)

Anyone have the same bug with me?

Using MPC and Madvr, standard LAV and ffshow raw filters.

This issue happening since 1 month ago.

Edit log is under 2 playback, closed the first one and opening the second one after, tried to re-install everything, couldn't work, suspected a settings problem.
