Topic: [Unsolved]MPC-HC issue@fullscreen (12/2 update)

Update:
Found new temp solution.(see bottom) By replacing different component, even the player, the problem persisted with all possible combination, except temp solution 2. It's not svp, not madvr, not LAV filters, ffshow raw filters, even 3 of them removed, issue still persisted. Must be an issue across multiple filters or even OS + hardware(see below OS/BIOS/Driver replacement).

Control:
Hardware E31230-v2, gtx 960, h77chipset, RMi 650 PSU
Software SVP bundled ffshow,Lav, Mpc hc, madvr
All settings are default, brand new windows 10 OS
Latest driver for the card 361.75.

Issue summary(all videos):
Full screen playback lagged once per second. (Tearing test orange line 'twitching' often)(Exclude overlay-ed full screen and windowed)
Render queue drops, present queue drops to 0.
0-1 drop frames per second, sometimes with color tile artifacts(In the video not shown)
CPU, GPU usage under normal range.
(see https://youtu.be/WlQo4b96Qbw[Uploaded, note that follow the mouse movement are important])
(see log and images)

Possible solutions tried:
OS re-installation
Default settings for SVP4 software.
Direct3D Fullscreen.
Turn off filters except ffshow raw video.
Set Lav to copyback.
Set Lav to none.
Manually set cores to 7.
Disable SVP (Issue persisted)
Disable Madvr (used default output renderer) (Issue persisted)
Use another player (Potplayer Issue persisted)
Windows version update
Installing previous GPU driver version 350.12 and others
Reset BIOS
Replace LAV filters to haali filters

Temporary solution 1:Force overlay video progress bar to stays on top.
[Flawed, audio is not sync]Temporary solution 2:Replace Madvr to haali video renderer

Attached log file/images for help, thank you for reading. All the edit are summarized into the above reading friendly table. Pardon my grammar =].

Re: [Unsolved]MPC-HC issue@fullscreen (12/2 update)

I wonder what's the point installing SVPlight if you don't have LED lighting hardware?

Re: [Unsolved]MPC-HC issue@fullscreen (12/2 update)

I tried to tick full installation, avoiding other problems that caused this issue.

testing w/o SVP and Madvr, the problem remains

Check if you system is good enough for video playback and for SVP: run SVPmark and compare results.

E3 1230v2 and gtx 960, haven't been run into problems like this before.

Re: [Unsolved]MPC-HC issue@fullscreen (12/2 update)

What happens if you set the LAVfilters decoder to "Off"?

When setting the LAVfilters decoder to "block" or remove it completely, the internal LAVfilters will comes up, looks like they have default settings.

The CPU and GPU usages are well below 20% when playing 720p(30fps) -> 1080p(60fps) videos. Even when the decoder/render queue drops to 1, same usage remains.

Re: [Unsolved]MPC-HC issue@fullscreen (12/2 update)

Been using K-Lite for years, never had problem like yours.
I even am using it with SVPFlow x64.

Do you use Codec Tweak Tool? There is 'Fixes' option over there.
It can detect and fix broken DirectShow filters installation.

Fixed and uninstalled, even used extra tools to see of codec errors, still won't do the job but thanks. After installing new windows, still have the same issue, now I have to look into Nvidia drivers and BIOS.

Re: [Unsolved]MPC-HC issue@fullscreen (12/2 update)

I think your problem is very likely in the driver.

But before you tweaking your driver, how about try to watch with other video player?
MPC-BE, choose the 7zip extension if you don't want to install it.
PotPlayer portable
VLC portable

Above video players are portable, but only MPC-BE and PotPlayer that can use ffdshow raw filter.
Try with one of those and compare whether the problem persists.

If there's no problem with other video player, it's very likely MPC-HC problem.

What issue?
1. Full screen playback lagged once per second
2. Sync (video behind audio?)
3. Artifacts (where screenshot?)

No, I mean going into the LAVfilters settings and then setting its hardware decoder to "None".

If there's no problem with other video player, it's very likely MPC-HC problem.

The problem is still there, I will record videos to explain. Just setup PotPlayer portable, everything were fine except full screen playback.

Re: [Unsolved]MPC-HC issue@fullscreen (12/2 update)

I don't mean to be naggy, but you didn't clarify if you tried setting the LAV decoder (the same drop-down menu where you select "copy-back") to "None"

It's fine, thank you for your help again. I just updated the post and I have tried all possible options, which includes None. The video is currently being uploaded, you may get a clearer image for the issue.

Re: [Unsolved]MPC-HC issue@fullscreen (12/2 update)

You could always try running DDU (LINK and then re-installing your graphics drivers.

The main thing is that Windows 10 likes to install its own drivers from Microsoft which can bork with some things (yes, even on a clean OS installation), and running DDU can help prevent that from occurring.

I mean, I don't think it'll make things worse, and should at least rule out the drivers being the issue.

Just tried to install a older driver and looked through bios settings, no luck, hope one day it will fix itself...

What build number? Use public builds (10586), don't use insider builds (14251). They are too buggy.

Both fresh non updated and 10586.07, thanks again.

Re: [Unsolved]MPC-HC issue@fullscreen (12/2 update)

Have you tried driver version 350.12?
It's worth trying based on this post.
