number of processing threads - may be, but it's a wrong way
the right way is to lower settings in video profile or even turn off gpu acceleration

in my opinion the issue with

laptops is their cooling systems can't handle both high cpu and gpu load at the same time
and i'd glad to be wrong here

Well, my HP laptop is like "pro"-series (:D), but it still can't pass SVPmark at FullHD settings with GPU on.
And it's an i5m + AMD 6450 - just a half of your hardware.

Modern laptops are very low quality and are designed for just a few years of life, that's why they're so cheap.
I dunno may be in your case some capacitor on MB started to degrade because of high temp or some chip lost contact like in earlier xbox 360 models.
And may be you've just placed it on a soft surface

Тест SVPmark проходит без ошибок.

Ну там довольно быстро все, особенно на HD разрешении, быстрее чем по две минуты. Попробовать то же самое с FHD.

В любом случае если прикладная программа сваливает систему в синий экран - то проблема в системе.

Ну технически понятно, я цинично изменил авторский видеоряд без разрешения автора.

Ладно, все-равно там демка была не очень. Всего один вариант подсветки, без звука... Надо сделать новую.

The annoying artifacts are those that you can see when something is moving infront a complex background.

Using 21th or 23th "SVP-shaders" and "decrease grid step" option is the best you can do.
