Topic: shinchiro is providing mpv with vapoursynth support, works with SVP

I think his build can be considered as an official build. From build 20171229, his build has vapoursynth support and works with SVP. https://sourceforge.net/projects/mpv-player-windows/

Re: shinchiro is providing mpv with vapoursynth support, works with SVP

This's great, but SVP now needs more built-in encoders for transcoding and streaming - x265, QuickSync, AMD AMF.

Re: shinchiro is providing mpv with vapoursynth support, works with SVP

Just curious, why VLC does not need a special build that includes these encoders and why for macOS the guide only says "brew install --with-vapoursynth mpv"? I thought vapoursynth support was the only thing added to the special build.

Re: shinchiro is providing mpv with vapoursynth support, works with SVP

svpcode and svpcast extensions was added just now
and they both use mpv for encoding

Re: shinchiro is providing mpv with vapoursynth support, works with SVP

OK. But I think probably it is better to leave the playback task to official builds and let the SVP build do the encoding job only? Also, maybe the "other mpv builds won't work with SVP!" message needs changing. The installer and the guide page about mpv player too.

Re: shinchiro is providing mpv with vapoursynth support, works with SVP

what is the problem ? You can also build mpv yourself

Re: shinchiro is providing mpv with vapoursynth support, works with SVP

Nice. Finally can use SVP with mpv on Vulkan

SVP is actually providing mpv 0.28, which has vulkan.

OK, I got your point. You are right. Anybody can release a mpv build. I just wanted to provide this piece of information, because it was me who requested vapoursynth support from shinchiro. I love frequently updated builds, so I turned to him for help. Or alternatively would you provide weekly updates from mpv git master?

No, only the releases.

Re: shinchiro is providing mpv with vapoursynth support, works with SVP

So that's why I am here posting this. One more option for windows users.

Re: shinchiro is providing mpv with vapoursynth support, works with SVP

ok, I've updated mpv's wiki page with the link to shinchiro's builds

Rev1 or Rev2? Because Rev1 throws errors for me, with a weird kind of triangle bug in the upper right corner.

"rev1 or rev2" of what? hmm

of Vulkan I suppose.

Re: shinchiro is providing mpv with vapoursynth support, works with SVP

Vulkan rev2 (https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/pull/4933) was merged immediately after lachs0r released 0.28. So mpv 0.28 release contains vulkan rev1. I don't know why lachs0r decided that vulkan rev2 should not enter 0.28 release.

How can I build this so that the mpv-1.dll works with Plex Media Player?
