Topic: frc.prefetch Setting

Hi,

I am trying to get SVP to do my live TV interpolation in MediaPortal 1.

Sometimes it's smooth and sometimes it's not. Sometimes a TV channel will display ok and then seem to freeze for a few seconds, and then maybe play smooth or play jerky until I pause and unpause.

I was wondering if maybe the buffer that SvP uses is not big enough, and maybe the frc.prefetch field might be where I look. There are 3 subsettings:

ff_add
ff_mul
mpv_add

What do they do? Or should I leave these settings alone and focus somewhere else?

Thanks

Re: frc.prefetch Setting

More likely it's about not stable source fps value and/or frame drops and/or possibly interlaced contents on some channels

- What do you see in SVP's log?
- Take a look at source fps value in ffdshow properties -> Info tab -> "Movie FPS" value
- Set "Movie x2" mode in profile options

Re: frc.prefetch Setting

Hi,

It seems that whenever the problem occurs, in the event log I get "seek was detected - turning off and back on"

I am not pausing or rewinding, this just happens when watching live TV.

Thanks

Re: frc.prefetch Setting

Try to use Don't reset option:
SVP tray menu - Application settings - Additional options - Reset on seek - Don't reset.

Re: frc.prefetch Setting

Hi,

I did that but still get the same behaviour, although the message is not appearing in the event log anymore.

This is the latest info from the event log:

My GPU is set at 50hz and all our broadcasts are 50hz in the UK.

Re: frc.prefetch Setting

Why SVP detects 29-30 fps instead of 50 hz as you said?
It listen to mediainfo and ffdShow (in case of live TV).

Try to encrease frc.target.fvr_diff value from 0.1 to something like 1.5 or 2.0:
SVP tray menu - Application settings - Additional options - All settings...

Re: frc.prefetch Setting

Thanks for your help.

I restored my PC to a previous state and the problem has gone away. Something must have not been working properly. One more question:

When watching TV 25fps are displayed very nicely, but 50fps material goes to judder. How can I get SvP to not start when this type of material is played. I can't work it out.
