Topic: Why does svp use a long time to load up a movie or youtube?
Does it really have that much buffering and preloading to do?

Video files from disk opens with the same speed because it is the normal way to open video in player. SVP logics starts to work just after the video is opened in player.
Video from youtube can open slowly due to internet connection speed.
Mpc with svp uses equally long time with both mkv video files as with youtube videos. Around 20 sec

O_o What kind of MKVs are you using? The MKV I use take all of 2-3 seconds the launch, and that's on a lowly Core 2 Duo T8300 (though with an SSD).
12+GB movies from a external usb 3.0 wd elements

Then it has nothing to do with it being an MKV and everything to do with it being huge files on an external mechanical hard drive (they're usually 5200rpm).
found the issue. Reclock was the culprit. Uninstalled it, and now it boots up as fast as any other player.
ReClock. Hmmm. It is interesting. Thank you for information.
No problem. and is there a fix fo the flickering that happens when you fullscreen in d3d? and also it flickers between 2 pictures when i seek in the videos aswell.
I just use youtube-dl with mpv and let SVP interpolate that. One less interference by an additional program
