Topic: black bar detection in svp4 too aggressive?

Hi all,

I am using black bars detection, when video content has vertical black bars I want it to vertically stretch (I am watching on 1:2.40 screen using anamorphic lens).

This worked fine in svp 3. In svp 4 it works as well but seems to be more aggressive: it redetects serveral times during a movies , causing short amounts of stuttering video.

Is it possible to make black bar detection less agressive? Preferably to detect only once at the beginning of a movie?

Any ideas about this?

Thanks,

Ronald

it re-detects not just a "several times" but continiously

ultra-wide screen movies with selected IMAX 16:9 scenes in  is a good example why

Yeah I know, quite anyoing when watching on a 1:2.40 screen, I will never even notice the change. tongue

Still I think it would ne nice to have the possibility to switch between continious detection or only once.

I guess I'll try to switch on and off detection remotely (using irule on ipad).

Still I wonder, why is there such a difference in black bar detection sensitivity between svp3 and svp4 ?

SVP4 has another more advanced logic of black bars detection. In some cases it works better.

Ok thanks for explaining.
