Topic: Bit depth reducing from 10 bit to 8 bit while using SVP

I got a problem with ffdshow Filter. If i active it then madVR doesn't active, and when i inactive it then "you know it" wink .

i already search for this topic on forum but cannot find it. so i make one. if someone already make it, please direct me. that's all and thanks. big_smile

Re: Bit depth reducing from 10 bit to 8 bit while using SVP

please post a screenshot of how your external filters page looks in the options of MPC-HC and list the versions you are using for each of the components you listed

Re: Bit depth reducing from 10 bit to 8 bit while using SVP

Kongou
Thank you for screenshots.
As I can see madVR is active in both cases.
You are wonder about bit depth?

It is bit depth reducing from 10 bit to 8 bit while using SVP. It must be so.
SVP works with 8 bit depth only. Color depth is converted at SVP input. So if you use SVP you will get 8 bit after SVP.
We can not fix it. It is avisynth restriction.

also sorry if you confused about my english.

Re: Bit depth reducing from 10 bit to 8 bit while using SVP

Kongou, I can play it with 10-bit output.

Check the screenshot in this post

You need to use Libavcodec instead of LAV video decoder.

The way I installed the SVP is very different with the recommended way. I told the installation way to my friend using K-Lite too, and it's was a success. Of course, he already installed K-Lite long time even before he knew about SVP.

Re: Bit depth reducing from 10 bit to 8 bit while using SVP

why someone needs "10bit output"?  hmm
you're probably watching this on 6-bit LCD panel  big_smile
