Topic: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

I followed all the instructions perfectly. Tried Daum Potplayer, and MPC.  Both of them will for some reason, open the file twice, one playing normally, another with just a frozen black screen saying "SVP: Preparing Smooth Playback". I tried installing the old version, still the same.

Something strange.
1. Please run SVPmark test and show results here.
2. And show screenshot of ffdShow tray menu.

2.  I'm not sure if this is what you mean.  But I don't have any ffdShow in the tray menu, unless a video file is open. In which case, this is what it shows.

1. What processor do you using?
Perhaps it is old and not supports some instructions. It is possible because I see N/A in SVPmark test Real-life result.

2. I mean ffdShow menu while video is playing. The aim is filters list in top of ffdShow menu from system tray.

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

1.  I have an i5-2500k.  Is that processor supported?

2.  Theres 2 in the systems tray; "ffdshow video decoder raw", and "ffdshow audio decoder".

I right-clicked "ffdshow video decoder raw" and this came up:

I do not see anything that says "filters list", but if by "filters list" you mean "ffdshow raw video filter", this is what comes up with I click it:

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

Did the developer give up on me ? sad

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

for some reason Avisynth scripts isn't working in your system

try to remove it completely, remove any codec packs you may have installed and install avisynth again
then run SVPmark and make sure it shows some numbers in "real-life" test

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

I looked at my uninstall list for any codec packs I had, and I found one called "K-Lite".  I uninstalled that, uninstalled Avisynth.  Then reinstalled it.  Now SVP works big_smile Thanks a ton Chainik!

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

It seems that most of my video files seem to lag, and it says "SVP Performance is too low. Try to lower the profile settings."  My CPU usage doesn't even reach 50% though which is weird.

I have an intel i5-2500k overclocked to 4.0GHz

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

- ensure you have "Enhanced video renderer (custom presenter)" selected as video output
- turn off all video "enhancement" options in NV control panel

That's weird. I still using K-Lite and never have problem with SVP  big_smile

I'm using madvr in MPC-HC and MPC-BE, and those two player work fine.
I don't install MPC-BE, I'm using it as portable and still work fine with SVP smile

Could you please tell me where I would find this? I rightclicked SVP Manager in systems tray, and didn't see any "video output", and double click on it and didnt see it there as well.

Open MPC, press o (this open the setting), check at right Playback->Output, and change the renderer for DirectShow Video

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

Thanks.  It was on "Enhanced video renderer (custom presenter)"

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

It was on "Enhanced video renderer (custom presenter)"

if you still see "CPU usage doesn't even reach 50%" and "SVP Performance is too low":
- press Ctrl+J while playing video, make a screenshot and post it here
- post here "Information -> Additional information" from SVP tray menu

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

Nevermind I must have been looking at it at the wrong time.  It was going well over 50% CPU usage.

How do I lower the profile settings?

How do I lower the profile settings?

http://www.svp-team.com/wiki/SVP:User_m … figuration

you may also try to increase "Processing threads" value up to 12

Are you using XP?
If that's the case, you may want to change the renderer into Overlay Mixer, that's the lightest renderer for MPC.

Choosing the larger Motion Vector Grid setting is helpful too. In my case, the default is 12px. Average 2, but it always makes the CPU's load more than 50% (~70%), so I opt to 16px. and the load downs to about 30-40%.

For video 1080p, I choose 28px. Although usually 1080p works fine, but I only have 1080p movies which have many effects (particularly particles effect) so I lower the setting.

You can experiment with setting that fittest for you specs.

Are you using XP?

I bet it's Win7 with "classic" interface.

tc213

If yes then turn on Aero at the first place.
Turning Aero off is a very bad idea.  big_smile

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

Yes its Win7 with classic interface.  How can i check if Aero is on/off?

Re: Doesn't seem to work at all for me.

classic interface in Win7 is not only how it looks but how it works
when you select "classic" (or "basic") interface in desktop properties you actually turn off hardware acceleration of desktop composition
which is really bad for trying to play 60 fps video

you need either choose any Aero theme or play video in fullscreen exclusive mode only ("D3D fullscreen" checkbox in MPC-HC -> Options -> Playback -> Output)
