Topic: Drop images, weak video card?

Hello,  and thank you for SVP.
I discover SVP two years ago. Your work is great.
Sorry for my poor english. wink

My problem: My processor can not exceed 40/50%. Beyond, I have dropped frames. Its less smooth.
I have a Core I7 860 overclock at 3700Mhz, 8GB memory. GPU acceleration is on. but my video card seems a little weak. This is a GeForce GT240.
I think my current system is unbalanced. GT240 GPU that does not follow the I7 processor, causing the drops.

Do you think I should take a more powerful card? GTX650ti or Geforce GTX660? to have less of dropped frame?

Thanks for your answer.

You can view GPU Load in GPU-Z. You can try to use Overlay renderer to decrease GPU Load. If it is about 100% then you need more powerful card.

Re: Drop images, weak video card?

Hello.
Thanks for your answer Mag79.
I tryed GPUZ. And you're right, it was 100% for my card.
I buyed a Nvidia GTX650Ti to replace my GT240.  I'll send you news when I'll test it.

Re: Drop images, weak video card?

Hello, here's the news.

GTX650Ti  give me a litlle gain in performance. Now I can raise 60/70% with my I7 without drop smile ,  with GPU-Z I see my video card is to the same level circa 70%.
Many thanks.
