Topic: Unhandled exception when using SVP and potplayer.

Hello.

I have a problem, when I use SVP I get that error message:

http://www.imagebam.com/image/f6587e243279094

When I click OK player just exits, SVP is still on. I also tried MPC and the same thing happens just without that code that is shown in error message. Settings I use in SVP are double the framerate and strongest artifact masking, but it crashes even if I change those to diffrent settings. I also tried disabling OpenCL acceleration and after that, changing the number of threads, still crashes. I have Geforce GTX 560 Ti and an Intel C2D E8400 @ 3,6 GHz. Drivers are 314.14.

Re: Unhandled exception when using SVP and potplayer.

try to pass SVPmark test, will it crash too?

It doesn't crash, here are my scores if it helps:

Re: Unhandled exception when using SVP and potplayer.

I hope PotPlayer on the screen is 32-bit version?

Re: Unhandled exception when using SVP and potplayer.

Yes it is, MPC is also 32-bit version.

Try to disable hardware acceleration: in LAV decoder and in SVP.

Re: Unhandled exception when using SVP and potplayer.

It worked! So should I try diffrent drivers for it to work with hardware acceleration?

EDIT

Strange thing, when I turned hardware acceleration on again in LAV and SVP it also works now .

Great news! Congratulations!

Please inform us if the error occurs again.

Re: Unhandled exception when using SVP and potplayer.

Ok, thank you very much for your help!

Re: Unhandled exception when using SVP and potplayer.

It also notoriously happens to me. Only when GPU acceleration is selected in SVP.
I have Geforece 540M with the newest drivers and it pass SVPmark

PotPlayer? What version?
What decoder have been used (internal or LAV)?

Re: Unhandled exception when using SVP and potplayer.

Potplayer 1.5.37776
Lav, internal, coreavc - it fails regardless the decoder and it's mode.
I've noticed the error sometimes also appears without GPU acceleration, when CPU is very busy.

I don't know if it helps but the error pops after about a minute and only when user interacts with the player. It's possible to watch the whole movie if you don't click anything.

I see. Maybe it is overheating?

Can you provide full information about error? Have you see anything about the error in windows log (my computer - management - Events - Windows logs - Application)?
I need info about module where the error occurs.

It does not depend on temperature.

Not very helpful.

I found out, though, this crashing depends somehow on Potplayer memory usage and number of SVP's working threads.
When I changed threads from Auto to 6, the video was playing and playing without error, even when I was switching fullscreen back and forth which before always resulted in a crash..

After some tests I found out that maximal number of not crashing threads is 12 for me (and this number depends on filters/renderers I use   mad  ).

I am on 2670QM

well... i won't ask if you read the FAQ  big_smile
just use "4GB patch" (from "Utilities" subfolder) on the PotPlayerMini.exe file

Re: Unhandled exception when using SVP and potplayer.

Sure, I did not  big_smile

It's working now smile
