Topic: why can't I play 1080 properly?

Hi!

I have been using SVP for some time now and i simply cant tolerate watching low fps movies now(damn you devs big_smile )
but lately I started to get some 1080 movies and my desktop cant play it properly, I tried to tweak it here and there but unless I  put the frame interpolation mode to 2m, SVP will keep on showing cpu load warning and stuffs, and bad things happen..

I used the SVPMark and the result shows that my desktop is capable to process the 60fps good quality(not the highest),
so I wonder if I misunderstood the meaning of good quality(this should mean that setting it to the all default right?), or I have some problem with my pc..

I tested on many 1080 anime, so it shouldnt be data problem.

Here's the svp mark result

Re: why can't I play 1080 properly?

ax-ed
Did you measure how many %% of CPU used your decoder and madVR renderer?
Just open your 1080 amine and disable SVP.

Re: why can't I play 1080 properly?

it's fluctuating around 17-26%

Re: why can't I play 1080 properly?

It is OK.

1. When you facing with performance problems? At start of playing or after several minutes?
2. What profiles set auto-detected at your system? 3g? SVP 3.1.3 tray menu - profiles - reset to default

Re: why can't I play 1080 properly?

almost from the start, about 20-30 secs.

it says 2g here.

thanks

Re: why can't I play 1080 properly?

some 1080 movies and my desktop cant play it properly

CPU:  AMD Phenom II X4 965 @3400 MHz [4 threads]
GPU:  AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6900 [ver.1016.4]

You really should be able to play morbid bitrate 1080p blu ray rips on that. I have a Phenom II 955 (4 threads @3.2 Ghz) with a powerful yet unsupported card (HD 4890 sad) and I can play 1080p flawlessly with *checks* 65-75% cpu load. And on cpu only that is.
What settings (and renderer) are you using? I'm using Video Mixing Renderer 9 (renderless) and these settings for near-perfect 1080p anime-watching goodness:

Re: why can't I play 1080 properly?

Hi! I tried your setting and it worked quite well, but the video seems less fluid with the motion vectors set on the minimum  smile

I dont understand what renderer i currently use, I simply install the full SVP (had bad time when I tried to act smart and install it separately)

I think I'll just stay with the settings you provided for now, though I still dont really understand why I cant just use full default as my setting(I think its the motion vectors grid that crashed my player, somehow).
(It would be nice if you could tell me your settings for the 720p and 480, esp. for anime.   big_smile )

Actually I use the exact same setting (for anime) on each resolution.
I'll try different Motion vector settings though (if my cpu alone can take it), more fluid = better. That's the idea of SVP after all.

Re: why can't I play 1080 properly?

ax-ed this guide work with the same cpu and a gtx-480 just add ffdshow raw and your good to go. And use SVP recommended settings.

hope this helps.

Re: why can't I play 1080 properly?

Hey greg! Great link, thanks!

Few questions,
I see that the cpu and gpu req already matches mine, will it work if i add svp on top of all that?
How is the guide intended to work? Is it supposed to improve the image quality, or it should do the same thing svp does, interpolation?
Should i remove everything and then reinstall all those components, and add svp lite + ffdshow on top of it?

Thanks!

Re: why can't I play 1080 properly?

I guess thats not good

Probably aint

1. 3 splitters (haali + 2*LAV)
2. DirectVobSub is buggy shit that dont understand animated subs used mostly in anime
3. 10bit - you are really see the difference on the 8 bit device? hmm

My in english is too bad for smash this article in ash

Yes, it works, but it is perfect example of "kludge"
