Will an I5 3570k be enough for SVP or do i need an I7 3770k?
Will there be a big difference between the two when using SVP while playing 1080p videos @60 FPS?

How about the GPU side of things..
Will an NVIDIA GPU matter? Im planning to get a GTX 670 by the way.

One of my home PC based on Core i5-3570K. It is good enough to 1080p video with SVP.

i5-3570K + GTX260 gets 2200-2500 SVPmarks
i7-2700K + GTS450 gets 2300-2600 SVPmarks

As you can see difference is minimal. wink

GTX 260 is good enough to 1080p video with SVP. GTX 670 is more than 3 times faster than GTX 260.
May be in future SVP can utilize all GTX 670 power, but not now hmm

About 50%

It is right! HT gives only 10-20% performance increase, but doubles memory consumption.

Hey im thinking of buy one ivy i5 3550 sad , i think its not so bad tongue at least much much better than my actual CPU. I cant buy 3770k for example, it cost so much here sad if i do then i wont be able to buy the motherboard i want tongue. Thanks for the info and sharing your results MAG79

my current cpu is e8400 which is pretty much obsolete nowadays hehehe
will try my best to get a new desktop before the year ends or wait for haswell next year
