Topic: AMD Radeon 7770 or nVidia GTX 460 1GB 256bit for SVP?

Which would be superior?  Looking to spend around $100 on a gpu.  Thanks!

Re: AMD Radeon 7770 or nVidia GTX 460 1GB 256bit for SVP?

I used online database of SVPmark results.
Radeon HD 7750 have GPU score from 1594 to 2968.
Radeon HD 7770 is absent in results base.
GeForce GTX 460 have GPU score from 2748 (934) to 5158.

I think GTX 460 is better choice.

Thanks.  Is good compute performance what I should be looking for in a card for SVP?  If so, those GPU scores (not just for those cards but others as well) seem very strange.

In case of SVP all cards above 5770 are equal
GPU scores in SVPmark means nothing for real-time playback IF the card is fast enough.

If you need some gaming performance - you'd better look at gaming tests

Re: AMD Radeon 7770 or nVidia GTX 460 1GB 256bit for SVP?

Would a 5770 + a 3570k or 3770k give me 1080 at 120fps on good or high settings?

Re: AMD Radeon 7770 or nVidia GTX 460 1GB 256bit for SVP?

My Core i5-3570K + GeForce GTX 260 can play 1080p at 120fps at "high" settings.
HD 5770 has the same GPU-calc productivity as GTX 260.

Answer: yes.
