Topic: GPU acceleration not working?

Hi, first of all I have to say that this is an awesome project, I've been doing the same thing manually with fddshow and avisynth following a guide online, but this is much better  :D

I have an AMD Phenom II X4 940 3Ghz processor, and a Radeon 6990 2GB video card, but for some reason svp doesn't seem to use the video card even when GPU acceleration is enabled (0% usage of video card, between 70-90% for cpu).

Is there a way to get svp to 'notice' the videocard, because its a waste to let a good card like this just idle while the CPU is handling everything...

Thanks in advance :)

Re: GPU acceleration not working?

If "GPU-acceleration" in the main menu is checked then it's working. Just try to uncheck it and see the CPU load wink
Also benefits of GPU acceleration depends on the settings used. For example they'll be minimal with frame doubling and high vectors search settings.

Re: GPU acceleration not working?

Ah, ok I see smile

Are there any settings that can be increased which would take more advantage of the GPU, or is it still really CPU dependant?

At the moment I'm using the standard C2Q settings with a screen refresh rate / 2 as framerate.

Re: GPU acceleration not working?

"Framerate change" -> "To screen refresh rate"
"SVP-shader" + artifacts masking -> anything you like cause they're processing by GPU

Why're you using this value?
