Topic: Crashing any playback on every try

Hey,

I've been trying to use this great project on my system for hours.
I've tried resetting every possible codec, reinstalling everything - still enabling SVP crashes any video playback I try. My setup is:

- Dell Alienware M15X
- Intel Core i7 720QM
- 8GB of RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M (306.02)
- Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
- SVP 3.1.2
- ffdshow rev4475
- LAV Filters 0.51.3
- MPC 1.6.3.5565

I've enabled LAV filters, tried using the Haali splitter, tried different players - even using GraphStudioNext's native DirectShow playback engine any player I use crashes when I enable the SVP manager.
I can even disable SVP completely in SVP manager just keeping the manager itself intact and as soon as any player starts showing "SVP: > preparing smooth playback" in the video stream it crashes the player with the following message in syslog (in this example MPC-HC):

Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: mpc-hc.exe, Version: 1.6.3.5565, Zeitstempel: 0x50088270
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: unknown, Version: 0.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x00000000

Pfad des fehlerhaften Moduls: unknown
Berichtskennung: 0543e1c3-f3ed-11e1-825b-0026b96399a4

Example of GraphStudioNext:

Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: GraphStudioNext.exe, Version: 0.4.9.1, Zeitstempel: 0x50046a1a
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: unknown, Version: 0.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x00000000

Startzeit der fehlerhaften Anwendung: 0x01cd87fc07f363ee

Pfad des fehlerhaften Moduls: unknown
Berichtskennung: 5f44b357-f3ef-11e1-825b-0026b96399a4

The same happens with XBMC dsplayer, GraphStudioNext's DirectShow video output and so on.
Disabling GPU decoding doesn't help either.

Any help would be very appreciated, thank you!

What is this? May be virus?

1. Did you pass SVPmark test?
2. Did you run any stabililty tests (memtest86, Linpack, OCCT ...)?

Re: Crashing any playback on every try

Yes. SVPmark runs well, stability is given:
memtest86, Linpack, Guildwars 2 hours of playing, 1080p playback using DXVA or CUVID, Virus checked using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and an active ESET Smart Security 5. Burning the GPU away with Furmark works aswell. The crash occurs just at the moment the SVP kicks in. Always at the same time. Tried different video sources (mkv).

ok. I see.
Try to install and run SVP 3.0.6 (link at the bottom of page).
It crashes players too?

Re: Crashing any playback on every try

Nope, 3.0.6 works flawlessly.

Hmm...
We need more info about SVP 3.1.2 player's crashes.
Please pack and post here folder %appdata%\SVP 3.1\ with all subfolders inside (AVS, Logs, Temp etc.).

Re: Crashing any playback on every try

Interesting, after uninstalling 3.0.6 and installing 3.1.2 the crashes went away completely. Do you still need the zipfile?

Re: Crashing any playback on every try

Nope.
Only if crashes will return wink

Re: Crashing any playback on every try

TYVM then, still, please don't mark this off as "works" as I had to install 3.0.6 to make 3.1.2 work.

- ffdshow rev4475
- LAV Filters 0.51.3
- MPC 1.6.3.5565

Did you remember what exactly you have installed after SVP what led to players crash?

Re: Crashing any playback on every try

Hmm, the only thing I also installed was the LAV Filters which were provided with the 3.1.2 installer.
