Topic: HDMI and blue tint

Samsung TV: in an HDMI connection B&W video has a blue tint around everything, which noticeable on moving images, despite adjusting TVs colour temperature and opting for 'greyscale'. It's not an issue watching B&W with a TV signal, nor is it a problem with my older Samsung TV which has no issues with SVP. It's only when SVP is active (on this 4K TV) that the problem presents itself.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

Re: HDMI and blue tint

1. Are you sure the blue tint depends on SVP enabled?
2. Can you take a photo of the blue tint and share it here?

You can try to connect another TV and check if the blue tint still present.

Re: HDMI and blue tint

As I've said, only when SVP is active - disable it and there's no tint. And it's not present on my older non-4K TV. The blue tint is very subtle - when there's no movement there's no tint. Aesthetically, it's not pleasant at all.

Re: HDMI and blue tint

I have look to the picture. It is not very noticeable to me.
Maybe it is slow speed of blue subpixels turn off. But then it is LCD panel characteristic and SVP can't affect it.
Have you try any high frame rate (HFR) videos with grayscale picture and 60 fps natively? Without SVP?

I asked my questions because SVP don't add any color details to black and white picture at all.

1. What framerate of your B/W source? 24 fps?
2. What video mode you using to output video to your 4K TV? 60 Hz?
