Topic: SVP drops frame rate index when seeking in VLC

Everything seems to work great aside from this one (big) issue:

If I open the "Performance monitor" and watch the frame rate index, when initially playing the video in VLC (x64) I get an index of 1.00 +-0.01. Great. However, if I fast-forward or skip to a different time, the index slowly drops to 0.52 +-0.01 and remains there until I click on "stop" and play the video from the beginning. Interestingly, if I instead pause then unpause the video, the index drops similarly, but almost immediately goes back to 1.00.

I looked through the forum and tried all the "reset on seek" options, but none helped. Any help with this?

Thanks for your time.

Re: SVP drops frame rate index when seeking in VLC

"Reset on seek" option is for ffdShow players only. It is not applied to VLC player.
I have checked SVP with VLC. In my case SVP-Index is not detected at all smile

Thank you for information.
We will look why it happens.

Re: SVP drops frame rate index when seeking in VLC

Ah, I see. Unless it's a placebo effect, I do notice a difference in smoothness when the index drops in VLC.
I'll use MPC-HC in the mean time (works perfectly), but would love to see it working for VLC.
Thanks again.
