Topic: Which framerate to use?

Hello,
so I've recently purchased pro version of SVP and a 165hz screen and I was wondering, how should I go about getting the smoothest svp experience?
Should aim for framerate matching the screen option, or maybe go for video x5, or just lock it at 120fps and set the screen to 120hz?

Re: Which framerate to use?

The best fluidity you will see at maximum framerate = 165 Hz
The best quality you will get at odd multipe frequency x1, x3, x5, x7
For usual video 24 fps it will be = 24 Hz, 72 Hz, 120 Hz, 168 Hz.

Does your screen support overclocked frequency of 168 Hz?

That is going to need a ton of CPU / GPU power though.

Re: Which framerate to use?

You should just choose option Screen refresh rate/2 or Screen refresh rate/3 provided you can overclock screen panel to 168Hz.

Re: Which framerate to use?

nope, screen caps out at 165hz, what about if I drop it down to 120 for 5x rate, would that produce good results?

Re: Which framerate to use?

144?

Re: Which framerate to use?

I could set it to 144hz, yes, but that would be x6 framerate, whereas MAG79 said that using an odd multiplier is better

Re: Which framerate to use?

how exactly does screen refresh rate/2 works, like just flat out 165/2 = 82,5 fps?
Like for each 2 screen draw calls there's 1 frame prepared? wouldn't aiming for 120fps be smoother with G-Sync on?
