Topic: Newbie here.. pls help.. need to install SVP..

Any useful tips are highly appreciated.. I want to install SVP into my Laptop..
Specs:
Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz
Geforce GTX 960M
Driver Version 381.65
8GB RAM
1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz
. . . . .

(Other Concerns):
If you think it's not enough for SVP free.. do you think buying SVP Pro would make it work??

As a complete newbie myself, I'd simply say that your spec seems fine, but be careful with laptops as thermal throttling can become an issue.

Install the free one, and if you're happy and want to tweak a bit more invest in the paid version, it's not a lot of money and well worth it in the long run.

I found it to be quite a steep learning curve, it doesn't just work out of the box for me at least. Several settings need to be set. But once running it's a great piece of software.

One thing you can try is the old SVP 3.1.7 (which is free) - it's interpolation settings are very similar to those found in SVP 4 Pro, though it's not as user friendly.

Now there are several things in SVP 4 Pro that are missing in both SVP 4 Free and SVP 3.1.7, but you can at least use it to sample how the actual interpolation differs between Free and Pro.
