Topic: Linux Status

Hi,

I have been waiting for the linux version of SVP since you guys announced the plan for developing one in the indigogo project. Few weeks ago I read somewhere in your website/indigogo project page that the linux version will be released on 9th of November. I can longer find where this information was posted, I am guessing this got delayed and therefore you removed it from your site.

Is there any clue to when the Linux version will be released this month?

Kind Regards,
T

I must have misread it. Thanks for the clarification. BTW do you have any information regarding when the linux version will be released this month?

Re: Linux Status

it definitely won't be released this month

too many organizational questions, too little time for development itself

Hi,

Its December now. Please can you provide an ETA for Linux OSs please.

Thanks.

I hate to say this - but no, I can't.
Just don't want to lie.

Sounds good to me, where can I find a link to download this when the beta version becomes available for download?  I'm on Arch, so I guess you'll provide a tarball or something so it works on multiple distros?  So excited to hear this!

Re: Linux Status

we're building on Ubuntu 14.04...
and you'll need to pre-install
- latest vapoursynth
- mpv built with vapoursynth support
- Qt 5.5

Yes!! About time! I'm on Arch with KDE so Qt is already configured out of the box. I already have mpv + vapoursynth and been using it for about 2 months for motion interpolation in Linux. No GPU support though. I am wondering if SVP for Linux has GPU processing support. I'm buzzing for this!

Yeah, SVP 4 Linux is completely the same as the Windows version.
And it's already available to the beta-testers.

Re: Linux Status

Ooooh I'm very excited for this to make it to release. I moved to linux recently and the thing I miss most is SVP.

I'm on Arch so hopefully someone makes an AUR package of it after you guys push it out.

Re: Linux Status

"Preview" version available now.

Consider this as a half-opened beta test - you need a valid SVP 4 Pro license to get access to SVP 4 Linux Preview.

Get the download link via License Manager.

Here's a draft version of Linux-specific installation procedure and SVP's issues.
