Topic: Recommended settings for Asus G75VW

MY laptop is Asus G75VW

Configuration
----------------
(CPU): Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz
System RAM : 16 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M 3GB GPU Memory
-----------------

I am running SVP 4 release beta and optimised settings works ok.
I want to use madVR with it.

Anyone could suggest me recommended madVR settings?
Should I turn off image doubling if i use CUDA / lav filters?
I followed Maken's but ended up in a jerky playback.

Re: Recommended settings for Asus G75VW

I use Jinc for chroma/image upsacling, catmull-rom for image downscaling.
I turned off the image doubling.
And I use Ordered Dithering. Error Diffusion (option 1) is better, but my video card is not that high.

Re: Recommended settings for Asus G75VW

I am confused between Maken's suggestion and this one
ended up screwing it up.

Re: Recommended settings for Asus G75VW

Uhhh.... isn't this a general MadVR question that has no bearing on whether SVP is used or not?

The only SVP-related recommentadion I would say is make sure SVP is using your integrated Intel GPU and LAV is using DXVA2 (copy-back)* for hardware decoding, and leave the discrete GPU for MadVR.

*If you plan on decoding videos with a higher resolution than 1080p, such as 1440p and 2160p/4k, you may need to use the Intel QuickSync decoder instead for adequate performance.

Re: Recommended settings for Asus G75VW

Hi,

My own config on a GTX 750 TI (HTPC1):
- Chroma: BCB75AR
- Image Up: LZ3AR
- Luma Doubling: NNEDI 32 neurons, only if scalling factor is 1.2x
- Image Down: CRARLL
- Dithering: Ordered
- Smooth Motion: OFF since I'm using SVP 4G for my 60Hz TV
- 1 frame drop every 1.2 days

Some people also create profiles for SD, 720p and 1080p with different settings. It's a trial and error approach until you find the right settings with your hardware and most of the times is a matter of taste (some prefer Jinc, I prefer luma doubling + Lanczos 3 taps for image upscalling).
