Topic: AC3 Audio Stuttering

Whilst using MPC-HC to watch videos with 5.1 AC3 audio, the audio stutters making the video unwatchable. This only happens through my S/PDIF output and not through a normal speaker output. I have tried using different audio filters and enabling all the bitstreaming formats in LAV Audio Decoder. I realise this isn't a problem with SVP exactly, but I don't know where else to ask for advice. I don't really know what other information is needed to sort this out, if anyone has any ideas please let me know!

Re: AC3 Audio Stuttering

is it working in some other player?

Re: AC3 Audio Stuttering

It works fine in VLC. The problem seems to be with audio filters for MPC-HC.

Re: AC3 Audio Stuttering

- do not use ReClock
- turn off "built-in audio switcher" in MPC-HC

Re: AC3 Audio Stuttering

I've already tried both of those, they haven't made a difference. I also tried manually adding the LAV audio decoder as a filter and also the ffdshow audio decoder. The ffdshow audio filter resulted in no audio, and having the LAV audio decoder added manually made no difference.

Re: AC3 Audio Stuttering

it's really hard to suggest something

you just need to
1. make 100% sure it's not a cable issue
2. eliminate all the filters between audio decoder and S/PDIF output

I personally use MPC-HC with S/PDIF for years so this's definitely not MPC-HC releated
