Topic: Frequent issues with youtube playback in MPC_HC

Hello,

I've been having a variety of issues with youtube playback. These include:

- Video stops, but audio keeps playing

- Audio stop, but video keeps playing

- Video stops entirely

- (Occasionally) Video gets stops too early

I'm using pretty much all the default settings. Any ideas? Is it an issue with MPC-HC, and if so, I would I set up a different video player to use with SVP?

I'll be happy to provide any additional information. Thanks in advance!

Re: Frequent issues with youtube playback in MPC_HC

Youtube's DASH formats (marked with (*) in SVPtube) are really tricky for video players.
Suggestions are:
- use latest night builds of MPC-HC and LAV filters
- don't expect good results for hi res video with slow Internet connection
- long videos gives more troubles

I would I set up a different video player

we know only two video players now able to load two live streams (by URL) simultaneously - MPC-HC and MPC-BE
if you know others - let us know wink

Ah, ok. I'll try the nightlies, where can I find those?

I also have this problem sometimes (video freezes and audio keeps playing) on svptube 480p... it only happens to me when I use "overlay mixer renderer" but that one also uses the least cpu% so I guess Ill play 360p

Re: Frequent issues with youtube playback in MPC_HC

480p is one of the resolutions in YouTube's DASH format. When SVPTube pops up, you'll see a little asterisk next to 480p. Try to play in resolutions that don't have the asterisk, it seems to be working for me so far.

this's new and interesting observation
are you sure?  hmm

Re: Frequent issues with youtube playback in MPC_HC

yes I have noticed that when I use "overlay mixer renderer" I no longer get framedrops and in default/old video renderer I get them so I switched to using overlay only and I encountered this problem with video freezeing after a while and audio keeps playing.

Now I switched back to 360p and it didn't happen again YET.

Also, I noticed that in "statistics" mpc-hc does not show current FPS anymore when using overlay renderer. But I guess that's normal
