Topic: E2140 and a Hd 4350

Will this combination work properly with SVP?

Re: E2140 and a Hd 4350

it's below minimum system requirements

Re: E2140 and a Hd 4350

what are the absolute minimum system requirements?

Re: E2140 and a Hd 4350

Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz + support for hardware video decoding

Re: E2140 and a Hd 4350

So if I had that processor with my current GPU, SVP would have maximum functionality?

Re: E2140 and a Hd 4350

no cause it's an "absolute minimum"
but yes, at least it will work

Re: E2140 and a Hd 4350

please tell me then the cheapest hardware config to get max performance with SVP

Re: E2140 and a Hd 4350

top AMD A10
or cheapest Intel Core i5

Re: E2140 and a Hd 4350

The main thing I don't understand is why isn't this software using more processing power from the GPU....do you guys plan on optimizing it in that sense?

Thor
please tell me then the cheapest hardware config to get max performance with SVP

A10-6700
FX6300/i5+GT640

Re: E2140 and a Hd 4350

Will it work with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (@2900Mhz) + GeForce 430GT (@850Mhz), 2GB DDR2 667Mhz Dual Channel. I tried but when watching HD it complains about high CPU usage (above 98%).

Re: E2140 and a Hd 4350

On my 2.5GHz Athlon 64 x2 4800+ I was only able to use SVP for 1280x720p 30fps h.264 videos.  Anything of a higher resolution, framerate, or newer codec (like VP9) was too much for SVP.

For reference the GPU I was using was an integrated Radeon HD 4200.
