i have no idea why but if Windows turns off aero - it's a sign of "overlay"

just check "view -> options -> playback -> output" and set it to "enhanced video renderer (Custom presenter)"

That seems to have fixed it thanks smile

I try to use it with MPC-HC the windows theme switches to Windows 7 Basic and the video playback become very distorted and is unwatchable.

may be "overlay mixer" aka "old video renderer" is selected as video renderer?

What do you mean by old video renderer? I installed the SVP pack with MPC HC included.

Hello.
There's SVP for Windows, but there's not SVP for OS X.
I would like you to make SVP for OS X.

Thanks.

OSX systems usually don't have enough processing power to run SVP well, so developing a version for osx would be not recommended. Also only hipsters and old people use OSX, and Windows and Linux are by far superior in customization and flexibility.

TL;DR: Switch to windows

Hi forums. I recently built a new medium-high tier PC. My old laptop could not handle SVP at higher bit rates and resolutions, so I was really excited to be able to use it to its fullest on my new system. Unfortunately whenever I try to use it with MPC-HC the windows theme switches to Windows 7 Basic and the video playback become very distorted and is unwatchable. I do not know what is causing this as my laptop never had this problem only the problem that it did not possess the processing power capable of running SVP on higher settings. I tried re installing twice which has unfortunately yielded the same results. I tried installing the 64 bit version of MPC-HC, but then SVP does not recognize it and therefore does not work in conjunction with it. I really have no clue what could be causing this. If anyone knows how to solve this please let me know because I really like this project and would like to use it over standard VLC. Thank you  big_smile
