Ok,
from github homebrew, someone gave us the hint how to get the app...:

Just add

    system "python3", "TOOLS/osxbundle.py", "build/mpv"
    prefix.install "build/mpv.app"

after system "python3", "waf", "install"

in install file located /usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Taps/homebrew/homebrew-core/Formula/mpv.rb.

Then reinstall with building from source:
brew reinstall -s mpv

And here is your app, ready to go on the system:
ln -s /usr/local/Cellar/mpv/0.30.0/mpv.app /Applications

Chainik,

on your given github link for opened issues,.. someone wrote under comments:
"You can maintain a copy in your own tap that builds the app."

Don´t know what that means..
Maybe you have a clue..

Big thanks for clarification Chainik,

until there is hopefully a final solution, i have gone back to previous mpv build.

Hi Friends,

i just made the update from mpv 0.29.1_3 to 0.30
I´m just wondering why there is no mpv.app in usr/cellar
Please have a look at the attached screenshot..

https://imgur.com/a/o9u6w8s

On the left side you see the new version 0.30 without the mpv.app in usr/cellar
on the right side you see the backup with the old version 0.29
I like to use the mpv.app directly. What am i doing wrong?
Big thanks for help.

Hi Friends,

just a little question regarding the actual change-log.
It says Version 4.3.0.165 is the latest. But when i check with my
SVP-Manager on my Mac (Version and Credits) it says 4.3.0.160.

The latest version to download seems to be 4.3.0.160-1.
I´m just a little confused.. Is the 4.3.0.165 Version just for Windows right now?
Or is the latest version 4.3.0.165 named as 4.3.0.160-1.. Or?

Thanks for your help.

Chainik,.........
YOU ARE A GENIUS !!!!!
  cool

YES ITS WORKING MAN !!!!

Big big thanks to you!

I´m sure, also other Mac-Users will be very happy to find out that it´s possible to get Kodi in combination with mpv
and SVP running..!!!! Now, that's what i call a really great setup on my rig..!!!!

Everything is running smooth and fine..!!!  cool   cool   cool

SVP 4 "PRO" is definitely "PRO"! Just like their "developers" !!!

dlr5668 wrote:

I only tested @ windows

kodi + svp mpv (comes with portable python bin files) = no crash

kodi + stock mpv = crash (different python version)

Thanks for your answer @dlr5668,

i tested it some time ago also on windows and yes its working.. But on MacOS..???... thats what i´m trying to figure out.. Typical MAC... ;-))
Seems to be the different python versions.. Right?

"MacOS - Using Kodi with mpv as external player in combination with SVP4.. Possible?"

Hi Friends,

i try to figure out how to get SVP4 working together with mpv when i use Kodi with mpv as external player.
Using mpv as external player in Kodi works without any problems. I choose in the movie library a video and
mpv will play the video.. Just fine…

Using mpv alone with SVP4 also everything is working just fine and perfect..

When i try to start a video from the Kodi-Movie-Library (with mpv as external player..) while SVP4 is active then
mpv starting the video,.. runs only for maybe 2 or 3 seconds and crashes….

My question:
Is someone here using Kodi together with mpv as external player in combination with SVP4?
How to fix it? Or is it impossible?

Big thanks for any help!!!

Btw... I already asked in Kodi-Forum but no one was able to give an answer.....

vasek wrote:

Hi, I'm experiencing exactly the same issue on MacOS 10.13.6.
What's interesting is that if I use "open file with MPV" menu, it works fine.

UPDATE
I figured out that running mpv with --input-ipc-server=/tmp/mpvsocket from shell works fine. That means that mpv is not picking up that parameter from conf file for some reason.

Any news on this?

I made a upgrade on homebrew today. Now again same issue as in first post described.

svp says: (Playback [64f9ee6b]: VS - Could not initialize VapourSynth scripting.)

Also, like @vasek discribed: "if I use "open file with MPV" menu, it works fine."  Same for me....

Edit:

I uninstalled mpv with brew force command and reinstalled with: brew install mpv  --with-libbluray --with-vapoursynth  --with-bundle
Now everything works as it should..!!!!

Hi Chainik,

thanks for quick response..!!
I only have one mpv on my system.. I tried different ways to fix it without luck..
So, i restored mpv from my ccc backup.
Now, everything is running just fine.

Anyway, thanks again.

Hi Friends, need some advice here..

After today's "brew upgrade" on my mac, when i start mpv, svp no longer working.

Error: Playback [4904d4db]: VS - libavfilter filter 'vapoursynth' not found!

i tried to switch vapoursynth version from latest back to previous but made no difference..
also tried with uninstalling mpv and reinstall.. still same issue/error.....

@EmilKolar

Thanks, I tried MPV but the lack of GUI makes it very hard to use/configure.

You can also try SMPlayer (based on mpv), works great!

Leider
Dafür müsstest du schon windows anwenden.

On MacOs i (and as i know neither the folks on SVP) do not know a method to convert the video to 60 fps.. Unfortunately..
For this you need to use windows.

Hallo Marcel,
du streamst also ein Video via svptube.. Richtig?

Hi Marcel,
you streaming a online video via svptube.. right? And you wondering how you can download and save the video which you are watching via svp on your harddisk.. Is it that what you mean? In this case i like to suggest that you download the video via a usual video-download-app (ex. "Get Tube" or similar..) inside your browser onto your harddisk as it is and watch the video via the Main SVP-App because i do not know a option to video conversation on MacOs...

Marcel,..

schreibe doch einfach mal mit ein paar kurzen deutlichen worten auf deutsch was genau du machen möchtest..
Vieleicht kann ich oder ein anderer Anwender hier es erinigermassen verständlich für Chainik übersetzen.. OK?

Chainik "I told Marcel to write some lines in german to explain what he like to do with svp or svptube...
so, i (or someone else here..) hopefully can tranlate it for you in english in case it´s not understandable..
OK?

Replace IINA`s libmpv.1.dylib with the one from Brew installation: /usr/local/lib/libmpv.1.dylib
-> /Applications/IINA.app/Contents/Frameworks/libmpv.1.dylib

Use IINA`s configuration setup “enhanced settings“ for : input-ipc-server=/tmp/mpvsocket

Name: input-ipc-server
Value: /tmp/mpvsocket

Configuration folder: ~/.config/mpv/

and if you like for other enhanced mpv options too..

Maybe also important...:
In mpv.config i only have these lines..:

input-ipc-server=/tmp/mpvsocket
hwdec-codecs=all
hwdec=auto-copy
hr-seek-framedrop=no
opengl-early-flush=no

everything else i use via the IINA`s enhanced setttings!

Works for me….

Enjoy

ok will take a minute or two :-D
Right now i´m still working already 48 hours duty behind.. but at at least now at the same time at home watching movies and stay awake ;-)

Sure,
do i just upload here a sample? Or what´s the typical way to send samples?
I thought i use handbrake to get a clip or is there also easier way?
How big (MB) should it be? Sorry for my ignorance... roll

Hi Chainik,

first of all big thanks for your very fast response.

I replaced the exe and it´s working fine!

Sorry for not much information in my first post. Actually i tried with maybe 20 movies (all mp4 ,x264 , avc mostly 960*400 23.976 and 944*400. 23.976) But when i chooses a mkv file svp did the job.... I send yesterday a problem report via the svp console with all required info.

Thanks again!!!

Hi,

question to the professionals here:
maybe someone knows whats wrong.. Had never problems with mvp/smplayer
everything smooth and perfect for me. After last svp update (think it was core64 etc..) svp only gives the
following playback: playing at 0 [0 *2/1] No matter what i chose in settings nothing changes.
I tried with uninstall all the related stuff, also using windows restore, uninstalled gpu driver a.s.o
No matter what i try i get with all movies the same result: playing at 0 [0 *2/1]
But when i choose a mkv file movie svp works with mvp....

What kind of information needs to be uploaded here? Logfile or..???
Thanks for help
