okay so I upped the processing threads to +2 and it seemed like it delayed the audio skip for a while. Upped it again to +4 and for at least hour-long episodes of Andor in 4k running at 120fps in DV / HDR10+ bit it seems to be gone. Three episodes without any issues, so if someone else has this, hopefully this is your solve as well.
Haven't tried a long high bitrate movie yet to see if it survives a proper stress test, but I may up the processing threads again just in case.
I have the strangest problem, and I can't quite figure out where it's coming from. My audio (atmos) will cut out randomly, between 15-30 minutes of watching something for about 3-5 seconds. I can rewind it and replay, and the audio will work, but it's super annoying. Most of the time, it won't happen again for the remainder of that file, but every so often it'll happen a second time in the episode, movie, or whatever.
I can't try a whole lot of video renderer options, since I've started to migrate to HDR10+ and DV content, and it doesn't happen 100% of the time, but it does happen almost every time, I'd say about 75%+
I'm using the x64, nvidia optical flow, rendering on GPU. 4k, 120fps.
Anybody else experience this? Anything I can provide to help with troubleshooting, logs, etc?
