This new TRT feature doesn't work. RTX 2080 Ti, playing HDR10 4K video. console window pops up and just freezes with [W] [TRT] Using kFASTER_DYNAMIC_SHAPES_0805 preview feature. What gives?

It works fine for me. It's specifically for DV that the colours are messed up. HDR10 works flawlessly for me though

Ok so I just tested Rife at 4k with Dolby Vision instead of regular HDR, and it seems that it's not working properly on my system at least. Regular HDR works perfectly, but Dolby Vision seems to get the colours all washed out when turning on Rife. If I use default settings on SVP instead of Rife, it looks fine as well. Any idea on how to fix this?

Yes I'm confirming that I'm able to watch that video in real time with 2x. My cpu is the ryzen 9 5900X, and I need 3800 MHZ memory to be able to do it. I had to also set the infinity fabric on my cpu manually. When set to auto, it wasn't working

I just increased the frequency from 3600MHZ to 3800MHZ and kept the same timings

Edit: okay so when going back to my 3800MHZ overclock, I forgot to set theinfinity fabric properly and rife in 4k stopped working again. I set the infinity fabric properly and now it's working. But at 3600MHZ with proper IF, it still wasn't working for me
Edit 2: also seems like that LG HDR video we were testing on before still doesn't work for me. It's probably because it's a 30fps video. Testing with 24fps videos, I can do 2x with HDR at 4k without a single frame drop it seems. 30fps seems to still be too much though

The reason I said that is because others like grobalt have the same hardware as me, but a worse CPU, and it seems to work. So I have to assume that something is wrong with my SVP installation or hardware

seems to work when doing this. I just don't understand why others were having no problems when using it with MPV on the same videos as me. I've tried reinstalling SVP as well but the issue still persists

Unfortunately, at least in my case, nothing changes and the video just lags for me. I've tried also putting my display in SDR mode or not allowing 10-bit colours, but it seems that as long as the video is HDR, it lags. 2 identical videos, 1 in SDR the other in HDR, the SDR 4k runs perfectly,  HDR lags. Not sure why others seem to be able to do it with similar specs as me though

that's just because I took the screenshot while idle. But everything changes accordingly when running SVP. 4K SDR runs like it should. It's just HDR specifically that causes the problem for some reason

I start seeing dropped frames past 80fps, playback seems perfect up to that point.

I also tried with 4 threads, no difference.

I'm not sure what's wrong with my setup then. When trying to run 4kHDR in real time, my gpu is stuck at around 50% usage with my cpu at around 8%. Changing thread count doens't help. Turning on "recover HDR colours" and limiting it to 8 bit doesn't change anything either. Anyone have any ideas?

The LG Demo File is lagging (about 2900 dropped frames at output for the full clip), 3 Rife Threads. No performance difference HDR on and off setting.

I don't have "try to recover HDR colors" on. What resolution is your display? Because on my 4k TV, i get frame drops with HDR and it doesn't work. On my second monitor which is just 1080p, MPV is downscaling it, so it runs perfectly

just make sure you also have a good cpu, because at 4k in real time, my cpu usage is also much higher. With HDR, both cpu and GPU are close to 100%. I have a ryzen 9 5900X

that sounds about right. At 4x in real time, my 4090 is at around 35-45% usage so 4x for a 3070ti makes sense I think

Just tried the updated instructions. Getting around 50fps at 4k with an RTX 4090 now. Between 170-190fps(it kept going up and down for some reason) at 1080p. These improvements are huge. Thanks for updating the instructions.
Edit: Just tested a bit more. 4k at 2x in real time now works for non HDR videos. With HDR at 4k, I only get around 35-40fps, so it is not possible yet.

Everything I've seen suggested so far, hasn't changed the speed. It always gets capped at around 60-75% usage like this for the entire duration

I followed all of that as well. I just did everything again to make sure and I get the same result. up to around 115fps. Changing to 4.4 doesn't change anything either. All of my other specs are the same as yours I think. 5900X, 32Gb 3600mhzCL14

Let's try this:

0. nothing to do with Python big_smile
1. download --> https://www.svp-team.com/files/temp/rife-trt-0701-1.7z <--, unpack into SVP 4\rife (you should already have this folder), so vstrt.dll must be in the root, i.e. SVP 4\rife\vstrt.dll
2. replace generate.js, base.py in SVP 4\script; restart SVP to be sure
3. menu -> Applications settings -> Additional options -> All settings, go to 'User defined options'
Title: TensortRT; Script name: rife_trt; Other values by default - "FRC profile", "ON or OFF"
Click 'Add option'
Go to the RIFE video profile, see the added TensortRT on/off swtich.
Make a copy of the RIFE video profile, one with TensorRT ON and another with OFF.

Pros:
- no Pytorch!
- works in a real-time
- even faster (?) than vsrife [could be just because of some TensorRT options]
Cons:
- even slower (?) first-time initialization [could be just because of some TensorRT options]
- a nasty command-line window will pop-up for every new video resolution

Tested this out with an RTX 4090 and seem to be getting around 115fps on a 1080p video. So much better than the default implementation. Used to only get around 80fps with the default
