Could you please elaborate a bit on this topic?
Did you manage to interpolate a video in real time according to these descriptions:
https://www.svp-team.com/forum/viewtopi … 023#p79023
https://www.svp-team.com/forum/viewtopi … 183#p79183

Which scale in RIFE? What graphics card? What file resolution? Did it not crash?

This still relevant to you?
If so yeah I use Vulkan in mpv, it doesn't allow for any overlays and stuff in fullscreen because it takes control of the display or something like displays directly, I don't know much about it.
I just use whatever settings to make it run easiest as that's really all that matters, to make it actually run.
I just gave it a test and it doesn't crash now so must have already been fixed.

I have issues with a mpv script that is a bit different and uses the 'script-opts' folder as well which doesn't seem to be loaded with SVP.
Also I don't really know which exact folders SVP uses for scripts so that would be great to know.
I seemed to have got pretty much all my other scripts working though.

Thanks

A bit late but as far as I could tell you mainly just need a good CPU assuming everything else is decent.

I would guess you would need at least a Ryzen 7 3700X or Ryzen 5 5600X but something slightly better may be better to ensure it works.

Seems like a Ryzen 9 5950X can do 4K 120 fps just, I haven't overclocked or anything though but it only uses a few threads (maybe 8 threads) so that's why it's so hard to run I guess.

I usually downscale to 1440p though as I don't have a 4K screen

Thank you very much!

I was just writing the 2nd point of my essay, but it looks like it's not necessary. OK, maybe I'll still finish it and paste it in here sometime. It is not important now!

Chainik, please write if you were able to interpolate in real time a higher resolution file using the 3.8 model than last time?

GPU; VRAM; CPU utilization; SVP index

424*240 - 23% (65% compute_1); 0.9 GB; zero; 1.0
640*360 - 9% (100% compute_1); 0.9 GB; zero; 0.76

3.8 model is the fastest!

Based on the evaluation of dozens of videos, the v3.8 model has achieved an acceleration effect of more than 2X while surpassing the effect of the RIFEv2.4 model.

https://github.com/hzwer/arXiv2020-RIFE/issues/176

Most say RIFE 3.1 is the better for speed, 2.3 is the best quality though generally. You compared the RIFE 2 models to RIFE 3 models not RIFE 3.1 to RIFE 3.8. But whatever is fastest would be best for this.

Edit: Probably the GPU API used aka Vulkan

laptop rtx 2060 --> 704*528 @30->60 --> 24 fps transcoding speed

is it supposed to use all the GPU? hmm because I only see up to 10% GPU load regardless of gpu_thread value

flowframes shows the same speed and gpu usage so lets assume this is "normal"

bottom line - I think we could integrate this for the SVPcode usage

Not everything uses 3D, RIFE uses CUDA which you can switch to in the GPU screen in Task Manager.
EDIT: Sorry it might not be the CUDA version nvm

Hi,

For the last year maybe as far as I can remember I sometimes like maybe 25% of the time (maybe less) get really slow downloads/steaming with youtubedl / SVPtube 2. I thought sometimes it was just because the video was new and i've noticed very new videos at least can have slow speeds from the YouTube servers but this isn't the case most of the time.
The speed is like < 100 KB/s ridiculously slow and it seems kinda random like even on videos i've watched recently.
I was wondering if there is a solution for this or fix that can be done for this.
It is very weird, like after just updating SVP now it's fine, I don't get why it fluctuates sometimes.

Thanks

It would be awesome to see an option or automatic feature in the future that adjusts the frame brightness and/or colour between the two reference frames.
It is very noticeable when watching content with a lot of fade to blacks/whites or aggressive lighting changes that the footage starts to look like 24/30 fps again "randomly" and it appears the framerate it dropping but it really just only effects movement.

A feature that accounts for lighting changes would be awesome to improve the experience.

Thanks

- Fadexz

Edit: Turns out this really only happens on slowed down video, speeding up the video during the fades should fix the issue, or rending it in normal speed.

I would like to find out the best settings for the most smoothness and less artifacts possible. Currently I have been using Automatic just because of how smooth it is and I can't seem to get that kind of smoothness from custom presets.

Also I have other questions...

How can I make Automatic the default preset so I don't have to select it every time?

Should I always choose the highest bitrate on SVPtube or is the default better?

Thanks a lot!  smile

Since Netflix needs to run in it's own player you would need to be able to capture a window or something and have SVP detect the frame rate or something like that so it could work, but a bit finicky.

Hi,

I'm getting an issue that says signature extraction failed.

youtube.py line 1420 and 1333.

Does youtube-dl need an update or something?

Thanks

EDIT: Seems to work now.
