Best way to use SVP with a capture card?

Hi I have a license for SVP 4 for windows.

Just wanted to ask how to use it with a capture card?

I have a capture card (Avermedia Extreme Cap UVC BU110). It outputs 60 fps at 1080p normally in mjpeg or yuy2.

When I use SVP 4 with the capture card in say like mpc-be at like 1280x720 at 60 fps, I see no difference in the video.

I tried the different profiles but I didn't see any change.

What do I need to do to get smooth motion (soap opera effect) with the capture card?

Do I need to lower the framerate?

Or should I use another program? Or try non directshow players like mpv?

SVP4 auto disable by folder feature request

Hi everyone,

I'm a lazy person by nature — I believe in automating as much as possible so I never have to think about it. And hey, it's the lazy ones who push the world forward!

I have a fairly specific workflow issue that I haven't been able to solve cleanly, and I'm hoping someone here has a solution or can point me in the right direction.

**My workflow:**
I download video files into a `Download` folder, where I work on syncing subtitles and adjusting the timeline. Once a file is properly subtitled and timed, I move it to a `SUBED` folder for regular viewing.

**The problems I'm running into:**

1. **SVP is unnecessary during subtitle work.** When I'm in the Download folder aligning subtitles, frame interpolation just gets in the way. I don't need SVP active there at all — only in the SUBED folder where I actually watch finished files.

2. **SVP causes stuttering during file moves between the two folders.** When I'm cutting and pasting files between Download and SUBED, SVP tries to process the video while the disk is busy with the file transfer. Since disk I/O for the move takes priority, playback stalls completely and I have to wait for the file transfer to finish before the next file plays properly.

Because of these two issues, I constantly find myself manually toggling "Pause SVP" from the tray menu, which I'd rather not do every single time.

**What I'd like:** A way for SVP to automatically disable itself when playing files outside a specified directory (e.g. anything not under `H:\SUBED`), and re-enable when playing from within that directory. Ideally this would work seamlessly without any manual intervention.

**What I've already tried:**
I attempted to implement this via an mpv Lua script using `observe_property("vf", ...)` to detect when SVP injects its VapourSynth filter and immediately remove it. The detection works correctly, but the approach feels fragile and hacky. I also tried calling the SVP HTTP API (`localhost:9901/rpc?func=setEnabled`), but couldn't get reliable results during active playback.

Is there a proper supported way to achieve directory-based SVP toggling? Any help appreciated.

SVP not picking up Plex all of a sudden.

I keep SVP updated (4.7.0.302 atm) and have updates DISABLED on Plex for windows to keep it from overwriting the mpv libraries all the time.

I also keep my geforce drivers updated (596.49)

Today, SVP shows "no active playback" when i play videos in Plex for windows.

I did:
copy libmpv-2.dll from the SVP4/mpv64 directory to the plex directory.
copy mpv-2.dll from the SVP4/mpv64 directory to the plex directory.
alternatively i tested with the old mpv-2dll that used to work (from 2022)

Confirmed the presence of the entries to PATH and PYTHONPATH

confirmed the mpv.conf in appdata to have the three lines as provided in the tutorial.

when i open videos with mpv itself, it works.

what am i missing?

SVPTube 2 major problem

I attached the image of what SVPTube gives me when I add a URL to the clipboard.
Red xs are just there to anonymize, no pertinent information is missing.

Odd that it says "git" at the end there... Also, I am logged in, in the browser that I Ctrl + C'd from (not that I think that part matters)

Is this a problem that can be rectified? Or are we done for good...
Or is it just me?
Please let me know.

SVP on Linux stopped working after the vapoursynth R75 update

It's not that the SVP can't be started as an application but it's that it doesn't "inject" itself into mpv and no interpolation is done. In the log there is only 1 error: Playback [1cc060e0]: VS - Could not initialize VapourSynth scripting.

The person here https://gist.github.com/tomkabel/d3d05d … 6773735463 apparently has a solution but it's a bit over my head. Can someone smarter then me pls help?

Риалтайм vs перекодирование

Давно настроил себе конвеер для риалтайма, привык к производительности, смотрю сейчас на упрощенном 4.26 в 3 потока интерполяцию в 120 кадров.
Но в какой-то момент решил перекодировать и поставил 4.26_heavy (тяжелый как 4.18) но в один поток.

К чему было моё удивление когда вместо 85 кадров в 3 потока я получил 130 в одном. То-есть видеокарта справляется на ура.
Включил в риалтайме - страшные фризы 20 кадров.
И в принципе один поток подфризивает, даже на простом 4.26 или любой другой версии.

Думаю что загвоздка в каком-то нюансе в плеере, мб где-то в апи, потплеер или mpv фризы примерно одинаковые.

Сразу подумал на размер буфера (при перекодировании то пофигу), но подняв с 7 до 20 кадров - вообще ничего не изменилось.
В чем может быть причина?

Проблемы с переконвертацией видео

Всем доброго дня.
Долгое время не пользовался SVP. Сейчас понадобилось. Версия обновлена до последней. После переконвертации видео с 24=>60 фпс обнаружил, что:
1. В результирующем видео нет звука (в исходном он есть). При этом, никаких настроек по звуку в разделе перекодировщика я не вижу вообще. "Куда копать?"
2. Специально для ускорения задействовал NVENC (видеокарта 5090). Но, загрузка видеокарты при перекодировании почему-то около нулевая. Да и ЦП тоже "прохлаждается". Время конвертации оценивает 160 минут. "Что-то тут не то!" Такой же вопрос: "куда копать?"

Возникли следующие вопросы, в которых прошу помочь разобраться:
1) При использовании МРС-РС версии 1.7.8 и англоязычного руководства по настройке (с сайта SVP wiki) были предприняты необходимые действия, но в меню “Воспроизведение” значок "Фильтры" недоступен и имеет серый цвет в отличие от проигрывателя МРС-РС 64, устанавливаемого по умолчанию вместе с SVP4. Скорее всего из-за этого в МРС-РС версии 1.7.8 не происходит плавного воспроизведения видео.
2) В проигрывателе МРС-РС версии 1.7.8, который использовался в Windows 10, при изменении скорости воспроизведения видео появлялось уведомление такого плана "Скорость 2X" или "Скорость 0,5X". При запуске на Windows 11 такого уведомления не появляется в МРС-РС версии 1.7.8, а также в МРС-РС 64, устанавливаемого по умолчанию вместе с SVP4.

Из раза в раз (~20% файлов) возникают ошибки транскодирования файлов (красная рамочка вокруг видео + явно низкий FPS) через "RIFE AI" профиль. По логу транскодера (в приложении) ошибок не вижу: де-факто, первый файл в логе ("Paradise.S02E07.1080p.rus.LostFilm.TV.mkv") — упал; остальные три прошли отлично.
ЧЯДНТ? Как минимум, можно ли в каких-либо логах увидеть ошибки, чтобы понять что не так и перекодировать файлы без их непосредственного просмотра? Спасибо!

Проблема с SVP на Windows 11

Доброго времени суток, столкнулся с неработающей SmoothVideo Project 3.1.7 (6.97.15) после её установки на Windows 11 Build 24H2 (на Windows 10 работает). Версия MPC-HC (65-bit) - 2.6.4 (efac3bb26). При запуске SVP, а затем плеера появляется уведомление “Повысить плавность не удалось, x64 applications are not supported”. Действовал согласно инструкции, на которой устанавливал программу для Windows 10. Нужно было установить скачанное в следующем порядке: MPC-HC, ffdshow, AviSynth+, SVP 3.1.7 Core. В настройках MPC-HC "Выбор фильтра" выбрать "ffdshow raw video filter", в настройках LAV Video Decoder изменить параметр "Hardware decoder to use" на "DXVA2 (copy-back)" и в окне "Выбор фильтра" выбрать "ffdshow raw video filter". На Windows 11 после проведения вышеописанных действий и запуска видео в MPC-HC на экране появляется уведомление “Повысить плавность не удалось, x64 applications are not supported”. В способе настройки на данном сайте (на английском языке) упоминается необходимость в разделе "Внешние фильтры" добавить AviSynth Filter, но в списке он отсутствует. Помогите разобраться с проблемой, возможно некоторые приложения не являются 64-битными. Привожу записи в журнале SVP:
