I'm still on 3.1.7 because I'm mostly interested in improvements of the optical flow quality. But I switched to MysteryX's frame rate converter because last time I checked, it looked so much better. Plus I think the halo problem is quite noticeable in SVP.

Doing optical flow in real time on the GPU is much more energy efficient and much more convenient though, so I thought I'd check if SVPflow has caught up

> before updating my SVP
updating from what? or updating to what?

> has it caught up to the latest mvtools in quality yet?
What you mean? SVP uses SVPflow plugins. It is a deeply refactored and modified version of mvtools2 plugin.
SVPflow

> Can it do DCT?
It uses SAD and SATD. As I can remeber about DCT it was slow and it is not supported. Chainik can tell more.

> Are the halo artefacts gone?
They are still here but with default SVP settings they are not so noticeable. You can try and compare. As you know it depends on material and settings. Just try.
