You might not like this but maybe try installing svp using the nix package manager. I am running it on NixOS without any issues and I am pretty sure nix runs on Gentoo

I recently updated from a working setup with Rocm-7.1.0 and mpv 0.40 compiled with vapoursynth-72 on Gentoo. I’m also getting an activation loop. It does not matter, whether I change the system python to 3.12. The activation registration works by the way. SVP just exits immediately afterwards without an error message or error exit status. I tested both bundled and system Qt/ICU/Mediainfo libraries. Using system libraries I get the following on a Sway Wayland session:

By the way, I fixed the issue with my RDNA card by downgrading to Linux 6.17.x as there is a major regression for AMD GPUs in 6.18.x

I also wanted to ask if there is documentation to 1:1 options in creating a custom SVP file?

I only know that when my GPU dropped to PCIe 3.0 1x for some reason, then it was almost unusable.

regarding the embedded player - latest Emby Theater is still on mpv 0.35 (!!), using the legacy API removed since mpv 0.38 I think...
I don't want to build a 0.35 libmpv specifically for Emby

it have mpv mode and non mpv mode (with --nompv flag) in case you want to try to attempt integrate SVP in there

I'm currently having issues with OpenCL on my RDNA4 card (unrelated to SVP). Would a GT 1030 in a secondary PCIe slot (2.0 16x) suffice for regular interpolation? The card would only be used for interpolation and encoding.

Edit: I also wanted to ask what the benefits are of using a dedicated GPU (other than SVP using less CPU power). I.e is the quality of the interpolation higher if it's GPU accelerated? I'm pretty sure the script file on the server is fixed. Maybe it wasn't actually updated for you for some unknown reason...

I can confirm core.full.script is version 4.7.0.302-1 but the error still happens ( FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/blaire/SVP4/script\\durfix.py' )

the script package was updated on Dec 10
you can check all the versions installed in components.xml -> name = core.full.script -> must be version "4.7.0.302-1"

Is 4.7.0.305-4 the latest version? I reported an issue with duplicate frame removal not working a few weeks ago and was told to update but I haven't gotten any yet

I've been getting crashes and system freezes for the past few days that seem to be GPU crashes from a recent driver update or something. Downgrading mesa version doesn't seem to help. Maybe I need to try an older kernel

EDIT: I can confirm this is an issue with the kernel. Switching over to LTS (6.12) resolves the issue.
